FAQs

Question

Will there be transportation to the ceremony or reception from the hotel?

Answer

No. It's a 13 min walk to the church from the hotel. There is parking by the church. Parking is limited downtown (Jimmy's Jazz Club). Park at the hotel and strut to the venue (7 min walk). If you wouldn't mind being a driver to bring some folks to the church/reception (Portsmouth native), we'd appreciate volunteers for a couple of drivers. For those who require a ride, we got you covered. Please reach out!

Question

Dress code?

Answer

Dress to impress and have fun with it! Something to twirl in! Formal-cocktail wear would be great.

Question

Sunday activities?

Answer

We will likely gather informally at Badger's Island. If you're in the hood, you're welcome to hang! But there are no formal activities, just a next day debrief and some saltwater! BYOB+PU - bring your own bagel and pull up!

Question

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

More than welcome to join us at the ceremony! At the reception, we are tight on our guest list and don't have capacity for kiddos. If your children are sneaky miscreant teenagers, we challenge them to join us by sneaking into the venue when our wedding planner isn't looking (and ideally after dinner).

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Indoors at both locations!

Question

I missed the hotel block - what should I do?

Answer

Let The Bride know! No worries though there are tons of options in the area. We recommend the AC Hotel. There's also the Residence Inn, the Hampton Inn all right next to each other.

Question

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

CJ Bus to Portsmouth is $25 and a 55 minutes ride. From there, either an uber or reach out to The Bride and she'll find someone to scoop you up. The Portsmouth CJ stop is about 15 minutes from the hotel. Also, it's a VERY nice bus. If I could buy stock in CJ I would. https://www.ridecj.com/ (This wedding is not sponsored by CJ).

Question

I'm not Catholic. Do I receive the bread? What should I do?

Answer

We're so happy you're witnessing our sacrament of marriage and to share our faith with you! If you're not Catholic: you CAN join the receiving line for Holy Communion (the bread and body of Jesus Christ). When you approach the priest, place your hands on your shoulder to form an X. That tells the Priest you'd like a BLESSING rather than the bread. He will then make the sign of the cross over you and give you a blessing. You can also stay seated if you'd like. If you have questions, please ask. We're so happy to share our faith with you!
