Question

When do I need to RSVP/Book?

Answer

MUST BOOK BY 11/01/2026 although the sooner the better. Please book with our travel advisor for cheapest options and so we are aware of your trip. We need final guest count for wedding day of activities 60 days in advance! If you don't book by then feel free to book and come to the resort and all activities but there wont be room at the actual ceremony :(

Question

How do I book my trip?

Answer

To receive our group rate and wedding benefits, please book through our travel agent. If you are arranging your own flights, she will still book your resort stay and airport transfers (just provide your flight details). She guarantees the lowest available price and will match any lower rate from a reputable source. She can also help with room requests, accessibility needs, travel insurance, transportation, and any travel-related questions. Direct Number 407.583.5932 tammy.hartline@algvacations.com

Question

Is there a group rate or room block?

Answer

We do have a group discount available for our wedding dates. However, rooms are not officially blocked, which means availability and pricing can change based on demand. We strongly recommend booking as soon as possible to lock in the best availability, room options, and pricing. Waiting longer may limit your choices or result in higher rates. Booking early also helps ensure you’re placed within our group and included in all wedding events and perks.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates. In this case must be valid through 07/2027. Minnesotans - Enhanced Driver’s Licenses (EDLs) do work for travel to Canada and Mexico, but ONLY for land or sea travel (like driving or cruising). You will NEED a passport.

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

We’ll be staying for 7 nights, and we’d love for everyone to join us for the full trip so you can enjoy all the wedding events and group activities. That said, we completely understand that everyone’s schedules and budgets are different—so if you can’t do the full 7 nights, that’s totally okay. You’ll still be able to book within our group and receive the group rate/discount even if your stay is shorter. We just recommend staying as long as you can so you get the full experience and don’t miss out on any of the fun!

Question

Airport to Resort Transportation? Getting to resort?

Answer

Provided—when you book through our travel agent, transportation is included in your package (even if you book your flights separately). From there, you’ll be taken directly to the resort—easy and stress-free.

Question

Question

What’s the weather like in January? What to Pack?

Answer

Expect highs in low 80s warm, sunny weather—perfect for a beach vacation! Swimsuits, sunscreen, dressy outfits for events, and anything you’ll want for a relaxing vacation. Bring some one dollar bills to leave as a tip! PASSPORT as well!!

Question

How does the resort complex work and where should we stay?

Answer

We’ll be staying in the Grand Palladium Colonial, which is where most of the wedding events and group activities will be centered. This makes it the easiest and most convenient place to stay so you’re close to everything happening with the wedding group. There is also the Kantenah section, which is especially popular for families because it has more kid-friendly areas and accommodations. While guests can move between sections, staying in Colonial helps keep everyone close together for events and makes it easier to connect with the group throughout the trip. We highly recommend staying within the Colonial section so you don’t miss out on wedding events, group hangouts. PS. Our discount only works when staying at colonial :)

Question

How do all-inclusive resorts work at Grand Palladium?

Answer

Grand Palladium is an all-inclusive resort, meaning most of your vacation is covered when you book. Your stay includes accommodations, meals, snacks, drinks (including alcohol), pools, beach access, daily activities, and nightly entertainment. Once you're at the resort, there's very little you'll need to pay for. While tipping is optional, a few small bills for exceptional service are always appreciated. One of the best parts of an all-inclusive vacation is being able to relax and enjoy the beach, pools, restaurants, and activities without constantly reaching for your wallet. There are a few extras that are not included like spa services, certain excursions, upgraded premium experiences.

Question

Getting around the resort?

Answer

The resort is large and spread out, so there is a bit of walking between areas like restaurants, pools, and rooms. Golf carts and resort transportation are also available throughout the complex to help guests get around more easily. If you have mobility concerns or prefer to avoid a lot of walking (for example, if stairs or long distances are difficult), we recommend requesting a room closer to the main areas when booking. The resort team is usually very helpful with accommodations when they’re requested in advance. We will also have golf carts lined up from the ceremony location to bring people to the reception.

Question

What events should I plan for?

Answer

We’ll have a welcome gathering, the wedding ceremony + Cocktail hour + reception, and some casual hangouts in between. Full schedule will be posted closer to the date.

Question

Do I have to attend everything?

Answer

Not at all—this is your vacation too! Come to what you can and enjoy the rest. If you plan to come but NOT to the ceremony please let me know so we don't have random chairs :)

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Tropical bright colors, airy fabrics, and a touch of whimsical romance. Here is a link to my mood board if you need inspo ;) https://www.pinterest.com/annabellehanke/come-for-the-wedding-stay-for-the-vacation/

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes! The wedding will include dinner and drinks, and the resort is all-inclusive so you’ll have access to food and drinks throughout your stay. One of our favorite vacation drinks is a mango mojito ;)

Question

What’s happening after the reception?

Answer

The resort hosts nightly entertainment so we’re planning to keep the celebration going there. Expect a fun, go-with-the-flow after party vibe! You'll also probably find us after everything at the sports bar having a late night quesadilla!!

Question

Can I request songs?

Answer

We’re collecting song requests through the RSVP—be sure to add yours there!

Question

Safety & leaving the resort?

Answer

The resort is a gated, all-inclusive property with 24/7 security, and it’s designed to feel very safe and contained for guests. Most people stay on the resort for the full trip since everything you need—food, drinks, pools, beach, and entertainment—is already included on-site. If you do choose to leave the resort for excursions or activities, we recommend booking through trusted tour providers or the resort’s excursion desk. These are organized, safe, and the easiest way to explore nearby cenotes, towns, or attractions. Playa del Carmen is generally considered safe for tourists, especially in the main tourist areas like Fifth Avenue (La Quinta), beach zones, and resort-adjacent areas.

Question

Do I need to know spanish?

Answer

Nope—you don’t need to know Spanish to enjoy your trip. The resort staff is used to international guests and most people speak English, especially in restaurants, front desk areas, and with activities/entertainment teams. That said, learning a few basic phrases (like hello, thank you, etc.) can be fun and appreciated, but it’s definitely not required. You’ll be able to get around, order food, and enjoy everything without any language barriers.
