Finding a Place to Stay

Cades Cove section of the Smoky Mountains is located on the west side of the park. The closest entrance is near Townsend. Due to the ceremony being early in the morning, it is recommended to find a place to stay near Townsend, Wears Valley Road, or the West side of Gatlinburg. Townsend and Wears Valley are the "quite" side of the Smokies. This area is less developed compared to Gatlinburg. If you decide to stay in Gatlinburg, then your travel time to the ceremony location could be closer to an hour
