Popular fishing spot and nice short hike. 1.5 mile hike with 462 ft elevation gain. Because this trail lies within protected watershed, dogs and swimming are not allowed.
Stroll: Temple Quarry Nature Trail
.3 mile paved walking path. This historic quarry trail is a short, accessible, paved hiking loop traverses a forested area and features interpretive sites along the route. Overall, the trail has a gentle grade, with sections that may require additional assistance for wheelchairs, mobility equipment, or strollers. There are benches along the route for resting. Because this trail lies within protected watershed, dogs and swimming are not allowed.
Hike: Red Pine Lake
Tough Hike! Long but beautiful! 7 miles with 2,000 ft of elevation gain. Because this trail lies within protected watershed, dogs and swimming are not allowed.
Hike: Cecret Lake
1.8 mile hike with 465 ft elevation gain. The Cecret Lake Trail is a wonderful family-friendly hike to a beautiful alpine lake in the Albion Basin of Little Cottonwood Canyon near Alta Ski Area. The trail begins at around 9000’ of elevation. The trail is a popular day trip from Salt Lake City. The Cecret Lake trailhead is located right by Albion Basin Campground. You have the option to continue hiking up from this trail to Sugarloaf Peak. Take the time to relax at the lake and take lots of photos of your family with the mountains as a backdrop. Red Butte Garden in the June features blooming flowers, fresh greenery, and views of the Wasatch Mountains. It’s a calm, scenic place to walk and enjoy the season. Wine and Cheese pairings every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at La Caille! By Reservation Only. Taste 5 Chateau La Caille Wines paired with artisan cheeses.
