The short story is that we sat across from each other in our freshman seminar class. Jacob thought I was a prude, and I thought he was a wild child. Little did we know, 2 years later we'd be head over heels for each other. As for the real real story? If you know, you know :)
We were on our family beach trip in Emerald Isle and Jacob had planned a special date night at a nice restaurant in Morehead City. It was so sweet to be back in Jacob's hometown and spend some special time together since Jacob had been touring all summer. It wasn't super out of the ordinary for us to go on a date when he returned from tour so I didn't think anything of it. The day before we had gone on a girls day to get our nails done which Jacob had pre-arranged with my sister. We had the most delicious dinner and we were driving back to Emerald Isle when Jacob mentioned that he wanted to take me by the house his family had lived in when they lived in Pine Knoll Shores, and then to the park where he would play as a child. We pull up to this beautiful park and walk out on to the dock together. I set my phone down with the self timer to get a picture of us when a lady walks down to the dock and asks to take our picture. We get a cute picture together and then Amanda (who I would later find out was our photographer) pointed out that she had seen some hawks diving into the water and if you know anything about me its that I LOVE BIRDS. I am looking out over the water to see the hawks and turn back to look at Jacob and he is down on one knee with my Grandma Reed's engagement ring from 1953. I was so surprised and cried like a baby. We then returned to the beach house where Laura had planned an engagement party with our family and friends. It was so special to share that special moment with our families. We are so excited to get married and can't wait for you to join us! See you in December!
