This event is for immediate family only and selected guests. The pre-wedding celebrations begin with a Puja, where the bride and her family visit the Hindu temple to receive blessings for a prosperous and joyous wedding. Following this, the Haldi & Telwan Ceremony takes place, during which female family members apply turmeric, coconut oil, and fragrant pastes to the bride, cleansing and protecting her while ensuring happiness in her marriage. Next comes the Tilak Ceremony, a symbolic exchange of gifts between both families, signifying their unity. During this ritual, the groom receives a tilak on his forehead, marking his formal acceptance into the bride’s family. Finally, the festivities continue with the Mehndi Party, where intricate henna designs are applied to the bride’s hands and feet, often concealing the groom’s name. It is believed that the darker the henna, the deeper the love and bond between the couple.
