Rat's Restaurant, located at Grounds For Sculpture, was conceptually designed by sculptor Seward Johnson, with an Impressionist Claude Monet-styled atmosphere. The restaurant scenery features Johnson's own impressionist-inspired sculptures, as well as a lily pond and bridge. It is named after the character "Ratty" from Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows. In Kenneth Grahame's classic, The Wind in the Willows, one of Mr. Johnson's favorite books, the character Ratty represented everything a host should be. As founder of Rat's and Grounds For Sculpture, Johnson likens himself to Ratty who threw the best parties with the best wine. Likewise, the two share delightful imaginations and far-reaching dreams.
The first part of the ceremony will be a shorter version of a Hindu ceremony(they can last hours to days) for about 30 minutes. Afterwards, the Christian ceremony will take place. We will have a program that will describe the different parts of the ceremony for all of you to follow along with.
In your car. Grounds for Sculpture and Rat's restaurant has a no smoking policy.
We realized there will be enough drivers who do not drink to take people to and from the hotel, so we will not need a shuttle service.
