Angie and Charlie met in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, on June 3, 2022, while both were there for their friends’ wedding (shoutout to Billy and Callie Samson, who are both in their wedding party). Charlie needed to find a place to stay for the weekend last minute and the house that Angie and her friends were renting happened to have a bed open. He only knew a couple of people there, but quickly fit in with the rest of the group—something Angie immediately noticed. Their first real interaction came that first morning at the house when Angie was in charge of the grocery list and couldn't get anyone to volunteer to run to the grocery store, while she had to stay back for a work meeting. Charlie, who had just arrived, offered without hesitation. It was a small moment, but it said a lot. As the weekend unfolded, the two hit it off—especially once it was time to hit the dance floor. After dancing late into the night, it became clear they had something special. After discovering they were both from Northern Virginia, Angie decided to ride home with Charlie instead of her friends. They’ve been inseparable ever since.
Charlie proposed to Angie on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. The two were in the middle of prepping Thanksgiving dinner at Charlie’s parents’ home in Centreville, Virginia, when Charlie casually asked Angie to help him light the fireplace on the back porch. Naturally, Angie’s immediate response was complaining about the cold and insisting he should do it himself. After a bit of convincing, she eventually gave in, threw on a big coat, and headed outside with him. Once they reached the fireplace, Charlie dropped the act. He got down on one knee, admitted he was never planning to build a fire at all, and pulled out the ring. Overwhelmed with happiness, Angie couldn’t contain her excitement—literally jumping for joy as she said yes.
