Sangeet and Mehndi (Henna)

Transportation will be provided from Hotel Barchetta Excelsior to Villa Geno starting at 5:15 pm. The word “Sangeet “ means music, and this is our traditional Punjabi pre-wedding ceremony involving lots of festive dancing and celebratory songs. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families and friends! Traditionally called Mehndi, Henna is an important part of the Sangeet night, symbolizing positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held the night before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to her marriage.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Formal Attire (American or Indian clothing as you wish!). *Please note color tips for this day: Our wedding colors are red/maroon, green, and purple and we request you avoid wearing these colors if possible! If you already have your outfits ready then no worries on the color tips! Please take a look below and on the "Wedding Day Attire Details" tab for more info and inspo.
The bridesmaids will be staying in their sarees after the ceremony for the reception and the groomsmen will be changing into suits/tuxedos after the ceremony. Please note Villa Pizzo has restrictions with limited changing room space, so changing after the ceremony is reserved for a limited number of people! Transportation will be provided from Hotel Barchetta Excelsior to Villa Pizzo starting at 3:00 pm. Beginning at 4:00 pm, the Groom is led to the marriage venue in a procession known as the Baraat, accompanied by family members, groomsmen, and friends known as baraatis. From there, the Groom will meet his Bride to begin the ceremony at 4:30 pm. Guests who have worn out their dancing shoes will be provided transportation back to Hotel Barchetta Excelsior starting at 11:15 pm. Transportation will be available anytime until 1:30am. For those who aren't ready to call it a night just yet can remain for the After Party (also at Villa Pizzo), ending at 1:30 am!
