I have found the one whom my soul loves - Song of Solomon 3:4

How We Met...

HER VERSION I was sitting near the front of the church sanctuary on June 11, 2006 preparing my heart & mind for Pastor Watson’s sermon. As soon as the pastor began preaching, I could hear a disturbance behind me. I turn around and cast a rapid glance upwards to this tall guy making his way to the seat behind me. Moments later, I feel a tap on my shoulder, I look back and it’s the same guy asking me for the scripture. Slightly annoyed, I answered his question. I could tell he was intrigued, but I was completely turned off by his tardiness to church. After the service, I tried to make a quick unnoticeable exit to avoid another encounter with this man, but he moved fast. He caught up with me, walked me to my car and asked for my number. Normally I would say ”no,” but on this day Pastor encouraged us to “Try Something New,” so, I did. Despite Ronald wanting more, he was friend zoned. Over the years, my feelings for him evolved. In Nov. 2012, I decided to share my feelings and we’ve been inseparable ever since. I thank God everyday for keeping this man single until I came to my senses & snatched him up! HIS VERSION It was Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 8:20 a.m. The sermon had just begun as I was making my way down the aisle to find a seat. When I sat down, I noticed the most beautiful mane in front of me, I was smitten. Before I knew it, I tapped her on the shoulder and asked for the scripture. She turns around with an irritated facial expression. Grudgingly, she whispers, “Matthew 15:21.” How you gonna front on somebody asking for the scripture? The sermon was titled, “What You Want is What You’re Gonna Get.” Appropriate, right? God doesn't make mistakes. When service was over, I wanted to introduce myself, but she walked hurriedly to avoid me. Luckily for me I have long legs, so she couldn’t get away. I escorted Angela to her car & asked for her number. We talked for about 2 hrs that night. Wish I could say the rest is history, but history didn’t start until 7 yrs later.

For all the days along the way
