A small-town girl from Maryland and a city boy from India- the odds were not great that we would ever meet. Luckily, we both made the decision to study at the wonderful Virginia Tech nestled in the Appalachian mountains, and we're so glad we did. We met around Halloween of our freshman year in 2012, and one of our first conversations was while Harsh was dressed as a construction worker and Angela was dressed as a Ninja Turtle. As we navigated the chaotic world of college, we grew closer and made lots of memories together. Some of our favorite memories together at Tech include hiking, football games, concerts and weekend trips with friends. After graduating undergrad in 2016, Harsh moved to Minneapolis to begin his career in software engineering and Angela continued in Virginia to begin veterinary school. We decided that 1,031 miles weren't all that far if it meant staying together. Through driving to meet halfway, organizing Skype dinner dates and racking up a ton of frequent flyer miles, the distance has felt less daunting. In December, Harsh drove 16+ hours unannounced and proposed under the lights of Hahn gardens (on a Monday after Angela's big exam, of course). Two more years of long distance didn't feel like much longer in the context of a lifetime. Now, we are looking forward to getting married in May and moving in together in Minneapolis next May when Angela graduates vet school. We hope to move back to the east coat in a few years to continue our story. We are so excited to share our wedding with you all, because neither of us would be where we are today without the support and love of each and every one of you. ...
