When Alexis and Andy matched on the dating app Tinder on September 20th, 2018 they had no idea that one month later they would be going on their last first date. The match came at a time when the two had grown weary in the search for love. Alexis had accidentally purchased a premium version of the app that allowed her to view people who "liked" or "swiped right" on her profile. When she saw Andy had "liked" her she "liked" him back immediately. He was pleased to find that they had matched, and noticing something special about her he forewent his typical opening message of a polar bear gif and instead asked Alexis about herself. Their first date began with a meal together at Cafe Mexicali, which has since become a favorite of theirs. After dinner, they went to a CSU-sponsored haunted house, where Lex hid her face in his jacket the entire time. Andy is pretty certain that her makeup stains still live on that jacket to this day. Following that, they noticed the full moon and decided to go on a moonlit stroll around the neighborhood. With the night still young, they decided to finish the evening with movies, video games and a little bit of wine. We have omitted parts of the story that detail run-ins with several of Andy's local friends during that evening which are still cherished friendships for both of them to this day. It was an unconventional yet perfect first date. Alexis and Andy grew closer over the next year and a half spending time getting to know each other and each other's family members. Eventually they made the choice to move in together. This choice preempted, but occurred very closely to, another significant global event in the year 2020 that resulted in, for most folks, A LOT of close quality time with the people in their homes. Fortunately for our intrepid heroes, they had each other and a fluffy canine companion named Wesley to lean on. This was a difficult time period for many, but the two young lovers learned a lot about living together in close proximity for an unconventionally long period of time and, fortunately for us, they enjoyed it. Fast forward to now, the two have lived happily in their own 800 square feet of lovebird bliss for over 3 years. They have their love for each other, loving and supportive family and friends on all sides, and a new canine companion named Ralphie. If you ask Andy he will likely tell you that their struggles with love and relationships prior to meeting each other laid the foundation for how special and significant their relationship is. If you ask Alexis, she will likely tell you that it was written in the stars. We look forward to seeing you at the celebration of our union and love. To the moon, stars and back. A&A
