Like any great, modern romance, the story of Kayla and Andrew starts in San Francisco, online. Yes, this is a Hinge success story. Kayla was spending nights at the bar Northstar, and Andrew wasn’t up to much either - until one fateful swipe. Kayla’s Hinge prompt read: “First drinks on me if you’re from Europe.” Andrew shot back, “I’m not, but I love this.” Their first date sealed the deal when Kayla was the only person Andrew had ever met who recognized the band Dirtwire. From there, they bonded over music, concerts, and an uncanny overlap in taste, so much so that they realized they’d been to several of the same shows without ever meeting. By dates three and four (back-to-back Polo & Pan sets, naturally), they were inseparable, sharing a love of travel, the outdoors, food, red wine, and music. A few weeks in, Andrew learned Kayla’s upcoming “one-month” trip was actually a five-month world adventure (thanks, Briana). Still, he stuck around, and when Kayla dangled the idea of meeting in Europe, he booked a flight. Two weeks through Germany and Austria later, complete with comments from Andrew’s friends saying that his Instagram looked like a honeymoon, he asked Kayla to be his girlfriend at 7 a.m. in a Berlin club. When she returned from her travels, Andrew whisked her to the Canadian Rockies, where, between backpacking and alpine lakes, he realized she might just be “the one.” Three years later, it’s no surprise they combined their two greatest loves: travel and the outdoors, by celebrating with all of you in the Dolomites, a place they instantly fell for.
