Just 5 minutes from our venue is Château de Bouteville, a small castle perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards.
Located 15-minutes north from our venue, Jarnac is a charming riverside town in the heart of the Cognac region. Here you will find the renowned Courvoisier distillery or a peaceful walk along the Charente River and through the bordering parks. There is a great galette restaurant, Nom D'une Pate and a small antique store next door Maison Zakka Brocante. Another favorite spot of ours is Quai30, a small riverside bar.
The Château de Bonbonnet, located about 25-minutes west of our venue, is an 18th-century estate, known today as the home of the Citadelle Gin distillery. It is surrounded by serene countryside and juniper fields and open for tours!
About a 20-minute drive northwest from our venue, you will find the town of Cognac, France. In Cognac, you will find the world famous Hennesey house, which offers tours. There is also an 11th century Saint Léger church and the scenic Charente river.
Located about 30 minutes east from our venue, you will find Angoulême, perched on a hilltop. There are direct trains from both the Paris airport and Paris' central train stations into Angouleme, so we expect many guests to arrive here. It is a charming old town filled with cobbled streets, cafes, and Romanesque architecture; it hosts the world-renowned International Comic Strip Festival! This is also where you can find our florists' shop, Côté Art.
Bordeaux, known for its world-class wines, is about an hour and 15 minutes south from our venue. As one of the largest urban centers in southwestern France, you will find lots to do. Here you will find many historic sites like Saint-André Cathedral, Cité du Vin, an interactive wine museum, as well as many nearby vineyards for tours and tastings. You could also stroll or cycle along the Garonne riverfront, with gardens and open-air cafés or enjoy the lively Chartrons district, known for antique shops and wine bars. Or shop on Rue Sainte-Catherine, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping streets
Located about two hours south of our venue or less than an hour from Bordeaux is one of our favorite places in all of France, Lège-Cap-Ferret. Here you will find a laid-back, picturesque peninsula with daily markets, golden dunes, beautiful beaches, and pine-forest bike paths. A truly special place!
