Molly Burnett snapped this photo of Eva while camping at Devil's Tower, which was the final stop of their cross-country road trip to Cody. Eva would meet her future husband less than 24 hours later.

We met as Episcopal Service Corps volunteers. Both of us were freshly graduated from college, and unsure of what we were meant to do in life. Eva had short hair and Andrew did not have a mustache.

Eva took this picture of Andrew skipping rocks soon after we met. We were on a group hike and ended up alone somehow... but we hiked mostly in silence since we didn't think we had much in common.

Eva took this picture of Andrew in Hardin, Montana. Her crush on him started that weekend, specifically while watching him roll up his sleeves to fix a roof in the pouring rain.

Eva's family came to visit Wyoming in May, where they met Andrew for the first time. On the trip home, Eva's dad predicted (correctly) that we would be engaged by January.

Our little house was empty, but not for long--Nora gave us a futon, Dakota gave us a bed, Diana Barton gave us living room furniture and Francie loaned us a desk and dining set. We felt so blessed.

Andrew's mom took this photo of us on Beartooth Highway. This was the week that Eva met Andrew's family for the first time--it was a great trip filled with nature, trivia, good food and local theater.

Andrew proposed in the Bishop's Garden of Washington National Cathedral on 10/22/22 (Eva's 24th birthday).

When we were housemates, Eva thought Andrew was very serious. She started asking him "What made you smile today?" every day as a joke. Now, we ask each other that question every night before we sleep.

The ring, which originally belonged to Eva's grandmother.
