The National Cathedral is close to the church. Touring it takes about an hour and the views from the top are amazing. You can also walk through the Cathedral gardens behind it for free.
Dumbarton Oaks is one of DC's oft-overlooked 'hidden gems' - a beautiful 19th century mansion, very impressive art and artifacts collection, and expansive grounds and gardens.
One of DC's best paid art museums holds an excellent collection of French Impresssionist paintings.
DC's oldest neighborhood, filled with loads of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries along a beautiful riverside waterfront.
You probably won't have time to visit on Saturday, but all of DC's Smithsoniam Museums are free and entirely worth a visit. At the Museum of Natural History, you can see the Hope Diamond, which was once owned by Evelyn McLean - who's family also built the McLean Gardens Ballroom - where we'll be having our reception cellebration.
If you haven't been to DC in a while and have the time - DC's new District Wharf area is a great place to eat, drink, shop, and relax. It is also near where Andrew used to live for five years before he moved in with Christie in Cathedral Heights. It is quite a ways from Cathedral Heights, they must really have loved each other to make that distance work!
DC's newest museum is the new Spy Museum. Andrew's office window directly overlooks it, though he hasn't actually been yet. Probably great for kids and spy-lovers. Ask Andrew to tell you about the time he saw one of the Museum's WWII tanks fly past his 6th floor window!
