They met in the early hours of November 18th, 2018 at American Outlaws Bar in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. Brianna was out with her friends when Andrew approached the bar they were sitting at, introduced himself and offered to buy a round of drinks. His warm easygoing personality quickly won her over. They spent the rest of the night together talking and dancing like they were the only ones there. When the night came to an end Andrew walked them out and they went their separate ways but never did exchange phone numbers. Later that night Brianna found Andrew on Facebook and sent him a message making sure he got home safely. That small gesture of care sparked the beginning of their story.

Soon after meeting, Andrew invited Brianna over for their first date. They spent the evening decorating his Christmas tree and snacking on hors d'oeuvres. As they hung ornaments and strung lights, it was clear their connection was something special. That same night Brianna met Andrew's Bernese Mountain dog, Rainier, who was a huge part of his life. She quickly fell in love with both Andrew and Rainier and they became inseparable from that point on.

Just a few weeks later, on December 8th, 2018, Andrew asked Brianna to go with him to look at Golden Retriever puppies. That day they picked out Rocky, their first puppy together. From that day on, their weekends became filled with outdoor adventures, hiking, and many trips to the park with Rainier and Rocky. Andrew’s roots in New Jersey gave Brianna the chance to experience new places and perspectives, while their shared love for the Midwest kept them grounded in Iowa. They grew closer through traveling, adventures with their dogs, trips to New Jersey, enjoying a good meal and cocktail together, and the simple moments. Each year of their relationship they moved to a new place but on September 27th, 2021, they bought their first home in Ankeny, Iowa where they continued to create new memories. They were so grateful to finally have a place to call their own and to have a yard for Rocky and Rainier to play in. Throughout the years they worked on many home projects together making their house into a home. On June 15th, 2024, just a few weeks after their engagement, Brianna and Andrew moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Andrew was offered a new job opportunity and although moving away from the familiar was daunting, they were excited to experience a new city together.

On May 30th, 2024, during a much anticipated trip to Oregon and Washington, Andrew planned a moment they would cherish forever. They arrived at Mount Hood shortly after 2:00AM, geared up, and started their hike up the mountain, lighting their way with headlamps. That morning was very cold and windy with snow blowing in their faces but eventually, the sun started to rise, and they got to take in the breathtaking views and the beauty of Mount Hood. Later that morning, Andrew insisted they take a break at a scenic spot off the trail. They found a rocky plateau that overlooked the southern slopes of the mountain and put on additional gear for the ice before setting off again. While Brianna walked ahead of Andrew she turned around to find him down on one knee, holding a ring, and asking her to spend forever with him. She said yes to the love of her life in the most beautiful place imaginable. It felt like time stood still, just the two of them, the mountains, and a promise for the future. It just so happens that they were also standing on the Palmer Glacier, making the proposal that much more perfect. Mount Hood will always hold a special place in their hearts, not just as the site of their engagement but as a reminder of the adventure, love, and commitment they share.
