Mangaluru (IXE)

The closest airport to Udupi-Manipal is Mangalore (Mangaluru) with the airport code IXE. It’s a smaller airport in India that has direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Dubai. For those travelling from Canada and the United States, you’ll have to fly through Europe or the Middle East (likely Dubai), or directly to Delhi or Mumbai, and then take a local airline south to Mangalore. If you’re coming from the UK or Europe, there are flight routes that will take you directly to India or through Dubai, and then you’ll have to take a local airline to Mangalore. If you’re coming from Australia, there are direct flights from Sydney to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, and then you’ll have to take a local flight to Mangalore.

Taxis

The Mangalore airport is an hour(ish) drive from Udupi-Manipal. The easiest and best way to get to the hotel from the airport is by taking one of the taxis at the airport, which will give you a set price (roughly 2000-2500 rupees). They're safe, and there’s a good chance that the driver will speak English (or someone nearby can help). Make sure that you have Indian rupees on hand to pay the driver. We'll also send you Sam’s brother’s number in case there’s an issue closer to the date.

The Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Manipal is a pretty big hotel, and the staff there will speak English and will be able to help with anything you need. Once you RSVP, we will send you a unique link to book your room at discounted rate! Looking forward to seeing you on the roof at our first party on December 3rd, and all transportation will be arranged by us to get to the wedding and the reception later in the week.
