Kara and Andrea met thanks to Tracy at the annual Wine Fest at Union Station, and their connection was instant. Their friendship deepened when Kara moved into the same downtown apartment complex—right next door to Andrea—making everyday life a little brighter. Some might even say Andrea played a part in introducing Kara to her husband, Garrett. Over the years, their bond has only grown stronger, shaped by countless FaceTime calls, easygoing girls’ nights, and a friendship that feels just as natural now as it did from the start.

Garrett and Larry are first cousins, less than a year apart in age, which made them inseparable from the very beginning. Growing up, Larry’s family would travel to Kansas City for the holidays, leading to countless memories playing video games, watching movies, swimming in the pool, and desperately trying to survive what was always promised to be a “quick” trip to the JCPenney outlet. Garrett’s humor and spot‑on celebrity impressions have always been a hallmark of who he is. So if you notice a group of people laughing in a random corner of the reception, chances are Garrett is right at the center of it.

Andrea and Audrey became fast friends during their Alpha Phi sorority days as members of the same pledge class, and somehow managed to keep that momentum going long after college ended. Their friendship was cemented during the “figuring out adult life” years, marked by big career moves, even bigger laughs, and more adventures than they can count, including an African safari. When summer rolls around, odds are you’ll find them at Grand Lake in Oklahoma, soaking up the sunshine and rehashing old stories.

Trevor and Larry became close friends while surviving several unforgettable tax seasons together at H&R Block, a bonding experience that only spreadsheets, deadlines, and late night production deployments can produce. When they’re not busy untangling the latest tax issue or saving the day one support case at a time, the two can usually be found gaming or plotting their next great get together. These gatherings are often hosted at the legendary Noland Pasture or the ever so elegant Eureka Lake. And while the names may sound exclusive, don’t be fooled, entry is free with the purchase of a Noland Pasture organic whole chicken.

Ashley is Andrea’s older wiser sister. She has been Andrea’s built‑in protector, voice of reason, and occasional reality check for as long as Andrea can remember. Ashley gives the best advice, always has Andrea’s back, and knows exactly when to step in and when to let Andrea learn things the hard way. As the incredible mom to Lena and Paul, Ashley somehow manages to do it all while still being the sister Andrea talks to every single day.

Drew Gibson

Larry met Drew during a summer internship at Payless ShoeSource, where Drew was assigned as Larry’s mentor. After just two years with Payless, they switched careers together and joined a joint‑venture startup. Over the next year and a half, they spent most of their time traveling across the U.S., opening Sprint stores, and experiencing a work environment that would make even Michael Scott from "The Office" blush. Through it all, Drew has remained one of Larry’s closest friends, a fellow Chiefs fan, and his number‑one golf buddy.

Amanda Gulsby

Amanda is Larry’s sister and Andrea’s built‑in best friend. They hit it off instantly and quickly realized they’re basically the same person! Same energy, same sense of humor, and yes, the same habit of talking with their hands. Put them in a room together and you’ll find nonstop laughter, animated storytelling, and a very strong chance they’re already planning the next big family activity.

Seth Gulsby

Seth is Larry’s brother-in-law though honestly, the title feels longer than it needs to be. Seth joined the Novascone family while Larry was still in high school and quickly became the brother Larry never knew he needed. Smart, grounded in his faith, and a devoted father, Seth has been someone Larry has looked up to ever since he became part of the family. Since Larry’s engagement, Seth has also taken on the key role of preparing Andrea for life as a Novascone. So far, this training has included giving directions exclusively by restaurant proximity and ensuring all driving is done at least eight miles per hour over the speed limit.

Tracy and Andrea joined Alpha Phi together in Fall 2009, where Tracy immediately stepped into her self‑appointed role as intramural athletics coach, because losing was simply not an option. When Andrea moved to Kansas City in 2018, Tracy was one of the only people she knew in KC, and Tracy made sure that didn’t stay true for long. Together, they’ve won intramural championships, tailgated with Lee Brice, and completed more bar crawls, both official and unofficial, than they can count.

Patrick or as most of us know him, Patty is Larry’s “yes man” from college. Whenever there was a wild adventure to be had or a party that needed attending, Patty was always out front, leading the charge. These days, he’s a world traveler, filling his cup with everything life has to offer. But no matter where he is or what chapter he’s writing next, Patty remains the same at heart, still the first one to say yes to any potentially great time.

Cassie Braswell

Cassie and Andrea were childhood best friends, sharing a once-in-a-lifetime kind of friendship not everyone gets to experience. Cassie was there for every big and small moment, every first, every milestone, and it is incredibly heartbreaking to acknowledge many of their lasts. Cassie passed away in October 2024, but her love, presence, and friendship will remain for a lifetime with Andrea.

Marlee is Larry’s niece, and Reece is Andrea’s niece. Together or apart, any conversation with these two usually circles back to Taylor Swift, Sephora makeup, or the latest viral internet trend. Larry and Andrea absolutely love spending time with them and are always grateful for their advice on how to stay looking young. (The secret, apparently, is a very generous daily application of expensive moisturizer!)
