Andie Faircloth

July 11, 2025

Raleigh, NC

All in Good Time

"There and back again. A *sweethearts'* tale"

Andie had just moved to Raleigh and entering her third year of teaching, first at Athens Drive High School. Quite larger than her first school, Hobbton, she was turned around. After finding her way to the bookkeeper's office, she retrieved her classroom key and set off to find her new room. Only the numbering system at Athens is convoluted and something akin to Hogwarts, so she turned to the young male teacher behind her, now leaving with his keys, and asked, "Can you tell me where 2412 is?" "Yeah, it's down there, to the right," the lanky teacher answered. Only it wasn't. In fact, he pointed her to the opposite direction. And they say you don't get a second first impression... That first year was a blur, both Conner and Andie finding their bearings in Raleigh. It wasn't until the following school year (2017, for those marking time) that Conner struck up a conversation with Andie in the mailroom. "What's up, Faircloth? Any plans for the long weekend?" "Going to Nashville with some friends actually! You?" Wouldn't you know it, Conner would be in Nashville that same weekend with his brother, Kyle, and the two groups would meet up, the beginning of a sweet friendship. A couple of kickball seasons later, an epic trip to Vegas that summer and Denver that fall, many weekends spent on Glenwood South, Fridays at Sammy's with coworkers, and many, many more "hangs"...and they were still. just. friends. His humor, athleticism, kindness, love of cats (shoutout Leonard) and of course, smokin' hot bod, attracted Andie, but she'd never admit it. No, into the ground her heels went and thus began the waiting game. And she waited. And waited. That was fall 2018, the year of our Lord. Fast forward to the fall of 2019, the two of them had just finished their 2nd season coaching volleyball together when they decided to have a postseason dinner at Woody's in City Market. After the "date," Andie questioned: "what are we?" (a.k.a. sh*t or get off the pot, Conner). Conner thinking of Andie's beauty, intellect, caring nature, pure heart, and also her humor, athleticism, love of cats, and smokin' hot bod, knew he was falling in love. After a long time of being worried about being coworkers, friends, and coaches, Conner finally turned to Andie and said, "I'm not worried about the what if's, I'm worried about the what is," and off on their new journey they went. And what a journey it has been: national parks trips, the weddings and celebrations of close friends and family, several rewatchings of The Lord of the Rings (extended editions), beach volleyball and kickball seasons with friends, many trips to MoJoes, and coparenting of two awesome tabbys (again, shoutout Leonard and Rizzo, too). So, it was much to everyone's delight that Conner FINALLY asked Andie, on an unseasonably warm January night in Raleigh, under a full moon and after dinner at Woody's, to spend the rest of their lives together exploring the "what is". Andie & Conner are so incredibly blessed and thankful that you all have supported them along the way, and will, on July 11th. They especially want to thank their parents, Hampton & Teresa and Doug & Linda, for being examples of how being best friends with your partner is the best way to spend life together. Colossians 3:14
