This is the neighborhood that the recommended hotels are located in. Here are some recommendations to take full advantage: 1. Rent out kayaks, canoes, & row boats, from Center for Wooden Boats, just a few steps from the hotel. 2. Pick up some food to go and hangout at at Gasworks Park at the north end of Lake Union. 3. Hop on a seaplane and take a city tour from above with Kenmore Air - also a few steps from the hotel. 4. Rent a boat that is also a hot tub from Hot Tub Boats. These book out far in advance FYI.
Neighborhood densely filled with shops and restaurants just a short drive (or long walk) from South Lake Union. We both lived here when we met each other and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood together. Don't miss these stops: 1. Visit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. 2. Peruse Elliott Bay Book Company. 3. Have a pint at Capitol Cider or Stoup Brewing (Ian and Broccoli's favorite hang out). 4. Grab some late-night food from Dicks or Dinos (Rachel's favorite pizza)
Always fun to check out Seattle's famous market! Bonus points for visiting Old Stove, our favorite brewery in the market with beautiful views of the Puget Sound & Olympic mountain range. Some other ideas: 1. Sip on a latte from the third floor above the market at Storyville Coffee (they also give out free mugs). 2. Get some whiskey on the rocks with cornbread at Radiator Whiskey. 3. Eat some cheese from Beechers cheese. 4. Finish with some clam chowder from Pike Place Chowder.
A must-see in Seattle! We recommend buying your tickets online in advance and purchase the 'Seattle City Pass' if you plan to bundle some of the below options: 1. Admire some PNW art at Chihuly Garden & Glass. 2. Check out the modern art at MOPOP. 3. Take a stroll down to Olympic Sculpture Park & Myrtle Edwards Park.
Great way to experience a ferry ride to a nearby island for a half day trip! Ferries leave from the downtown terminal (schedule is in the link). You can buy tickets there (they don't sell out). We recommend walking on the ferry (no car) and there are plenty of restaurants, wineries and nature walks on the main strip including some of our favorites: 1. Streamliner Diner - the best biscuit you'll ever have! 2. Eleven Winery - Rachel used to be a member here 3. Walk along the waterfront (turn left off the main street) 4. Bainbridge Brewery - usually our last stop while we wait for the ferry home.
One of our first dates and favorite ways to explore the beauty of Washington :) Reach out to Rachel for recommendations based on what you're looking for!
