The Wedding Website of Rachel Anderson and Ian Gardner
Question

Are there other wedding events that I should know about?

Answer

We're excited to host our guests traveling in from out of state at a welcome event Friday evening in Seattle in South Lake Union (SLU) near our recommended hotels! This will be more casual and a thank you from us for traveling to celebrate in the PNW. We hope you can make it!

Question

How do I get to Seattle from the airport?

Answer

The Friday welcome event and recommended hotels are located in South Lake Union (SLU). SLU is near downtown Seattle and both are about 25 minutes from SeaTac airport. We recommend Uber/Lyft or Taxi (surprisingly cheaper lately). Seattle also has a public light rail that you can take directly from the airport to the Westlake stop which is only a ~20 minute walk to the hotel (Rachel's favorite option). You do not need a car in downtown Seattle. We will be providing round trip transit to the wedding and there are Uber/Lyft, Bikes, Scooters and public transit readily available to explore Seattle!

Question

Should we fly in early to explore Seattle?

Answer

Absolutely! You can see the Space Needle, Pike Market and visit a coffee shop or two all in a day. You can purchase a city pass for discounted entrance to these attractions. We'd love to recommend some of our favorite spots - please reach out if you have specific questions!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations or negotiated rates?

Answer

Yes, we have negotiated rates at three hotels in South Lake Union (SLU) all within a block of each other, which is close to downtown Seattle. There are many hotels downtown so please reach out with questions and stay where you feel comfortable! If you wish to stay closer to the venue, we have secured a wedding rate at the Delta by Marriott hotel in Everett which is only 25 minutes away from the venue. Note this is about 50 minutes away from the Friday welcome event and we will not be providing transportation. There are a few Airbnbs available for those that want to stay with a larger group. Since this neighborhood is basically downtown, there are not many accommodations for large groups. Please see our 'Travel' page for details on rates.

Question

Will there be transportation provided to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We will provide round trip transportation from the recommended South Lake Union (SLU) hotels so you can enjoy yourself and don't have to worry about driving :) Even if you stay in an Airbnb or a different hotel you can still grab the shuttle from one of the hotels. The Lookout Lodge is 50 minutes away from Seattle so you don't want to miss the bus! The buses will also be dropping us off at the after party location in SLU (walking distance to hotels).

Question

What if I want to leave the reception early?

Answer

There is a parking lot at the venue for those that want to drive and leave earlier than 10-10:30 (but why would you want to do that..?)

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

No; enjoy a date night! Get a babysitter, leave the kids at home and get into a lot of trouble with us for an evening.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Show off your best semiformal / cocktail attire! That means no jeans, shorts or Hawaiian shirts. The Lookout Lodge is an outdoor venue with gravel by the ceremony location so ladies, leave your stilettos at home!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Oh la la. In order to respect venue capacity constraints, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please let us know when you RSVP - we'll do our best to accommodate you. We'll be offering a vegan option that anyone should be able to eat.
