Travel Note
Option 2: Ferry from Athens (Piraeus or Rafina ports) We highly recommend not booking your ferry tickets well in advance, as schedules of ferry itineraries constantly change. You can check schedules and book tickets online at https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/#/ or by contacting local travel agencies. We suggest you arrive at least one day before the first event, in case wind or strikes affect the schedule of ferries. Piraeus Port: The port is easily accessible from the Athens city center and the Athens International Airport (ATH) via: Taxi: ~€60 flat rate from airport (credit cards now accepted) Metro: Blue Line from airport > switch at Monastiraki to Green Line (3-min walk to port gates), €9 Airport Bus X96: €5, runs 24/7. Timetable here You may have a layover in Athens, as most ferries leave in the early morning hours (7am – noon). If so, book an accommodation close to Monastiraki or Syntagma station and enjoy the Akropolis life! Rafina is also another port option but getting there is not possible with public transport. Indicative prices from Piraeus Port: High-Speed Ferry: ~3.5 to 4.5 hours, approx. €60–€80 Conventional Ferry: ~5.5 to 6.5 hours, approx. €40–€50
