Enjoy the beauty and charm of Buena Vista which is surrounded by the Collegiate Peak mountains with the Arkansas river running through town. Buena Vista River Park

The Buena Vista River Park is just steps from the hotel and includes a lovely walking trail along the Arkansas River that is easily accessible. There is also a small beach where you can hang out, or you can walk across a pedestrian bridge to find a quieter spot. There are large river rocks lining the river where you can sit and hang out. Get some sun, take a cold plunge, or go on a riverside stroll! You may catch some people learning to surf!

Lost Lake Hike

Easy to moderate 3.5 mile out-and-back trail to a gorgeous alpine lake. See AllTrails link for directions to the starting point. There are a handdful of other accessible hiking trails from town as well, ranging from easy to moderate, which can be found on All Trails.

CKS River Supply - Rentals, Kayak, Stand up Paddleboard, and Surf Boutique

You can raft, float, kayak, or SUP on the Arkansas River. In late August, the water levels will be lower and more calm. CKS River Supply is the most central place to rent rafts, paddle boards, kayaks, duckies, etc. in downtown BV. If you're interested in some water activities, check out this spot for rentals.

Buena Vista has a lot of beautiful riding on back roads, but keep in mind there are no dedicated bike paths. You can rent ebikes here! BV eBikes recommends several routes, for beginner and intermediate riders. Visit their website or store for more recommendations!
