FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive on the wedding day?

Answer

The ceremony begins promptly at 5 PM. Please arrive 30 minutes early to find your seat and enjoy the beautiful grounds.

Question

When should I arrive in France?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Thursday, September 3rd at the latest to account for jet lag and settle in before the wedding festivities begin. Many guests are arriving earlier in the week to explore the Loire Valley!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

If your invitation is addressed to you "and guest," then yes! If not, we're keeping the celebration intimate due to venue capacity.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We've listed recommended accommodations under Travel. Domaine de la Mulotière has limited on-site rooms that will be reserved for immediate family and the wedding party.

Question

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

No, but we've listed our favorite options for a range of budgets on the Travel page.

Question

Will there be transportation provided between hotels and the venue?

Answer

Please arrange your own transportation to the venue for the wedding day. Ubers and taxis are available. To get you back home safely after the celebration, a shuttle service will be available to select hotels.

Question

How far in advance should I book accommodations?

Answer

As soon as possible! September is peak season in the Loire Valley, and hotels book up quickly.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to France?

Answer

US citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Check current requirements at travel.state.gov before your trip.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the main international airport. We do not recommend flying into Orly (ORY). See our Travel page for detailed transportation options from CDG to Langeais.

Question

What's the weather like in September?

Answer

September in the Loire Valley is beautiful! Average temperatures range from 65-75°F. Days are usually warm and pleasant, but evenings can be cool.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Pack colorful black tie attire for Saturday's wedding, casual outfits for Friday's welcome dinner and Sunday's brunch, comfortable dancing shoes, a light jacket or wrap for cool September evenings, and a bathing suit (the venue has a pool!). Shoe Tip: The château grounds are beautifully grassy, which means thin heels might have a tough time. We recommend block heels, wedges, or flats for easier walking.

Question

What else should I do while I am in France?

Answer

SO MUCH! See our Things to Do page for our favorite recommendations.

Question

I have a question that is not answered here. Who should I contact?
