COVID-19

So what's the plan?

Currently we are proceeding as planned in the midst of the pandemic, and are taking steps to maximize your safety. We implore our guests to wear masks as often as possible in public places during the two weeks before the wedding and ask that you stay home if you have any symptoms/concerns. Here are some steps we will be taking during the ceremony, dinner, and reception to keep us all safe: 1) Hand sanitizer and masks will be readily available at both the ceremony and reception. We encourage everyone to wear a mask 2) The church has roped off specific areas for seating, allowing us to place groups of 4 or more together, at least 6 feet away from the next closest section. Everyone except the wedding party will be required to wear masks into and out of the church but not during the ceremony. Doors will lock at the start of the ceremony. 3) There will be designated seating areas for those considered high risk. We will provide gold wristbands to anyone who wants one- designating that person as someone who does not want their personal space infringed upon. Please respect every individual. 4) Dinner will have open seating that provides flexibility for guests to spread out 5) The buffet dinner will only be served by catering staff, who will wear masks and gloves 6) During the reception, the band and DJ will be spaced appropriately from the guests 7) Weather permitting, we will have as much of the wedding reception outside as possible 8) We ask that all guests wear masks as much as possible during the 2-week period prior to the wedding. 9) We also ask that guests get tested 10 days before the wedding (if testing is available). Please avoid non-essential activities that may expose you to the virus in the 14 days before the wedding. If you have a temperature or any of the following symptoms, (shortness of breath, sore throat, cough, muscle aches, loss of taste/ smell), please stay home. We will miss you but we appreciate your concern for safety at this time!

How We Met

10.8.2016

The two met on a chilly night in downtown Salt Lake City. The setting was Maxwell's East Coast Eatery (known by the locals as Swells). While on the dancefloor, Kyle met the gaze of Anahi's eyes, surrounded by strikingly bright red glasses. In the words of Paul McCartney, "She looked at me, And I, I could see, that before too long, I'd fall in love with her." It may have been almost 12 months until the fateful words "I Love You" were stuttered, but from then on, God had a vision for these two to be together!

How We Got Engaged

5.31.19

The two were staying in Cinque Terre, Italy- a beautiful stretch of "5 villages" nestled into the hillside along the Mediterranean Sea. They took a private boat tour to a beach, no longer accessible by foot, but only by water. Anahi and Kyle spent most of the day relaxing and enjoying this practically private beach in the middle of a stunning tourist destination. Riding the waves back to Manarola later that day, it was nearly time for dinner. The two rode the train to Vernazza, the last town to be seen this trip and the end of the famed "Lovers Walk". After spending some time swimming in the harbor, the two hiked back up to town and made their way to their dinner spot, just above the harbor, and in perfect view of the impending sunset. A bottle of wine and after a tasty octopus appetizer, it was time for the entrees to arrive. As they did, Anahi noticed Kyle, usually ready to devour any meal, unusually hesitant as he peered down at his plate. His hands were even shaking. Anahi could tell something was off, although she couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly. As Kyle began all the internal hype speeches he could give himself, Anahi asked him if he wanted to say grace over the food. Naturally he obliged, and as he finished the blessing, he got slightly sidetracked. He began to thank God not only for the beautiful and scrumptious Italian food, but also for Anahi. That she was a part of his life and that Kyle wanted her to be a part of his life forever. As Kyle stood up to grab a "tissue" from his back pocket, the whole restaurant watched what had become a pretty hysterical scene of tears and joy, as Kyle removed the large red box that had been causing him to sit lopsided for the last 60 minutes. Kyle got down on one knee and asked the one thing that had been on his mind since the second they arrived in Europe: "Will you marry me?" Anahi choked up, and mustered the greatest three letter word Kyle had ever heard: "Yes!"
