Free Tent and Trailer Camping Onsite

Bring your cush camping vehicle or family tent and camp on the family property next to the river. The URL above takes you to the camping area–just downstream from our wedding venue! Check it out. It's kinda remote, primitive-ish camping. There will be outhouses and access to running potable water, plus picnic tables and a covered pavilion with electricity. Shower options: Vallecito Resort our neighbor has showers for $6, one Sprinter Van on premises will have a shower, Blue Spruce and Five Branch campground have showers. If in Durango, the Rec Center is a great option! We will be onsite often, so we can help set you up. Fly fishing (catch and release) right out your front tent flap. Stores and restaurants are a few miles up the road. Be forewarned, there's likely no cell service nor campfires at the campsite, which may be the case everywhere. Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn

You can book your rooms here from now until May 30, 2018 and get a room with King or two Queens. AND you may cancel your reservation up until 6 pm the day of arrival!! It's one of the nicer hotels in town, and the best location to walk downtown and access everything you need. Highly recommend! It is $169.99 plus tax (summer rate starts at $210). If you need to reserve before Thursday and beyond Sunday, let us know, or ask for Erika at the hotel. We have at least 10 rooms on hold, but can add more. Note that you will need to call local Durango number to get the discount, but this also works: 800-245-4466 Let us know if you have any problems booking. Aaaand there's a pool and hot tub. Amy's family got a 2-bedroom 1100 sq foot suite here for approximately $250 a night to house 5 of them. It is on top of College Hill, with lots of open space and trails. Highly recommend for larger families. There are also 1 bedroom units, too.

This is a nice option that is at the north end of town next to climbing, and trails, but also allows you to drive the alternative back way—very scenic!— to the wedding, by traveling down 32nd avenue/Florida Road on Highway 240. It may be that the Durango Trolley is running and you can take it into the main part of town, too, which is only a few miles away. We have five rooms reserved under the West/Graziano wedding block to stay anytime from Thursday to checking out on Monday. If you have any trouble reserving for more days, let us know. You must reserve by May 28 or they will release the rooms. All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. Pine River Lodge

Unfortunately, they don't give any deals for the wedding, but if you want to be up at the lake (right across from it) and in a fun mom- and pop rustic cabin style, you must call them asap. They book fast. They require a two night minimum and as of Dec 2017, rooms 20,21, 25, 26, 27, 11, 12, 30 and 22 are booked. Also for all of you that are not staying here, a sweet warm pool is available for non-guests. Bring your own towel! It's open from 10-9 and there are changing facilities and showers.

Coordinating lodging for multiple families

With Durango having a lot of accommodation suited for larger groups-- let us know if you want to go in with other families, and we are happy to help coordinate that. I would consider looking at VRBO and AirBNB, but check the minimum nights and extra fees. These places book fast. Please reach out to us if you are having a hard time finding something suitable, or want to know whether a rental is in a good location.

This Yurt is between Durango and Vallecito Reservoir and will give you a good mountain experience. It also comes with a complimentary canoe! It looks like it books from March to October, so bookmark it and check in the spring!

Lodging at Vallecito Lake

If you want to stay up near the lake and play near where we will be getting hitched, check out other areas around the lake. Cabins book up quickly as do some of the camping sites if you didn't want to camp on the property. But there are a few stores and restaurants open around the lake, with great hikes at the far end. Blue Spruce Campground and Five Branches are official campgrounds (with showers). Vallecito Resort is on the other side of the property line and though a RV resort, they also have cabins (as does Pine River lodge mentioned above). Some of the AirBNBs around the lake are big houses, so for larger families. But the lake is right there and restaurants. It's quaint and some places take you back to the 60s. That weekend there will be the annual arts and crafts fair, as well as fireworks on the wedding night to celebrate July 4th

Durango has American and United flights–direct from Denver, Phoenix, or Dallas/Fort Worth. From San Luis Obispo, you can fly American or United to Phoenix or Denver, respectively. We recommend flying in on Thursday to allow some play time on Friday. July 4th is one of the biggest celebrations in these small mountain towns, so if you can make it stretch through July 4th we would recommend hitting Silverton for pie contests and fireworks, especially via the Narrow Gauge Railroad Train.
