If it were not for Covid in Spring of 2020, we may never have met. A global pandemic shut down most activities in the United States, such as schools, restaurants, and sporting events, including the local MLS team, the Philadelphia Union. A group of Union fans from all over, mostly local, but some from overseas as well, met every Friday evening over video conference to talk soccer, work (or lack thereof), and anything else that came to mind. Soon enough, the group of friends met before a Union game, Amy and Justin became friends and even confidants on certain subjects. They were both dating other people, so they stayed friends. Fast forward to May 2023. The first date consisted of pizza, wine, and Mel Brooks' "History of the World Part 1". She fixed the running toilet. A great time was had by all. Then came the year of never ending weddings, 2024. Justin and Amy had six weddings over the span of the year. It was towards the end of this run of weddings where Justin knew he had found his soul mate and wanted to make his amazing girlfriend his amazing wife. So a plan was initiated. With engagement ring purchased, it came to formulate an engagement plan. With the help of many close friends and over several months, Justin started to finalize the full extent of this proposal. August 1st, the day had finally arrived. Justin walked about eight miles that day and stress cleaned his refrigerator. It was a cloudy, humid swampy day. Typical New Jersey August weather. After a walk around Pennypacker Park in Haddonfield , New Jersey, in which Justin sweated more than he normally does, Justin popped the question. After Amy said yes, she pulled a reverse Uno and pulled out a ring from her pocket. There was a surprised yes. It wasn't the last surprise of the night as Justin had one last trick up his sleeve, surprising his new fiancé with an engagement party at their favorite brewery, Zeds Brewing in Marlton, NJ. The happy couple are now engaged and looking forward to starting the next amazing chapter of their lives together.
