Wedding Party

Meet our groom's people and the bridal party! We wouldn't be who we are today without them <3

Davis Johnson

Ring Bear

From Davis: "I was born and they visited. I couldn’t move yet so I couldn’t avoid them." Davis is Teddy's nephew and the boy that Amira has probably read over a hundred books to. He's also obsessed with dinosaurs-- ask him anything about them, he'll know! We love him.

Madeleine Johnson

Flower Girl

From M: "I was born and we went to CA. I couldn’t move yet so I couldn’t avoid them." Madeleine is Teddy's niece, and she is the best toddler singer and dancer you will probably ever encounter. Just try swinging "B-I-N-G-O" to her! We adore her.

Albert Ho

Best Man

We met as wide-eyed impressionable adolescents adjusting to boarding school. My first lasting impression of him was when he left popcorn in the microwave for too long just a few weeks into school, destroying the communal microwave, setting off the fire alarm, and causing the common space to reek of essence of burned and cleaning agents for the better part of a month. You know what they say about first impressions…you always get a second chance at them? Wait, that’s not quite it. Well, we managed to recover from that blunder, and he somehow ended up sleeping on the raggedy thinly carpeted concrete floor of my room, embedded with decades of accumulated crumbs, dirt, and who knows what else is in a teenage boy’s dorm room, in a sleeping bag the entirety of Junior year. Was it because he found his roommate that insufferable? Was it because Teddy being Teddy, he actually didn’t find sleeping on the ground any different from a bed? Or was it because he actually enjoyed my company? Having low social self-esteem, I didn’t let myself seriously consider the last reason, and as the years passed we almost lost touch in College, but we were reunited after College in the Bay Area and picked up right where we left off. So maybe, just maybe, I mean something special to him, and College was a period of absence that made the heart grow fonder.

Tiffany Lau

Sexy girlfriend from Okada

"Omg you're as short as I am! <3" were the first words Amira yelled at Tiffany when they first met. It was by chance that they met at Stanford Admit Weekend but Tiffany was relieved to have an immediate friend because she's an awkward person in social situations. And little did she know it'd blossom into the wonderful 15+ year friendship with lots of great memories. From staying up all night making chocolates before unfortunately getting rolled out in FroSoCo to rolling on the living room floor with Caroline in their first townhouse after college to now classily drinking fancy wine, there are too many great memories to choose just one favorite one. But maybe you can ask them again during the party.

Danielle Levi

Brideshustler

Danielle was first charmed by Amira over a game of beer pong during Sophomore year of college. Danielle was immediately impressed by Amira’s confidence, feistiness, and beauty. Shortly after, Danielle invited Amira to join her as a dancing extra for a music video and was shocked when Amira agreed. They never talk about that mortifying experience and you will NEVER see it, but it forever bonded them together. No one understands Danielle quite like Amira does - whether in love, life, or work. Danielle is incredibly lucky to have Amira and hopes they laugh over many more embarrassing moments to come!

Vickie Lee

Groomswoman

Bouldering. Bishop. Board games. Friends. Food. Festivities. From San Francisco to Oakland Vickie, Jon, and Teddy managed to compete through it all. Vickie and Jon wish they could attend whatever this website is for. But we're winning the baby competition. Best wishes from afar, marriage is wonderful. (We'd know because we won the race on that too).

Caroline Shen

Bridesmaid

I officially met Amira maybe two days before we graduated college in a haze of apartment hunting and final graduation preparation. After -being forced to- spend two weeks together 1:1 as roommates is when I'd say we officially became friends and I was struck by how easy it was to be with Amira almost 24/7 - carpooling to work, sitting at adjacent desks at work, going to the gym, and spending evenings at home together. I have so many fond memories now since then :) it's hard to pick a single funniest moment... For this blurb, I'll go with the time we went on a wine tasting. Since it was all-you-can-taste for the single tasting cost, the boys were taking the approach of drinking as much as they could - meanwhile Amira and I were methodically consulting our Vivino apps to optimize which ones we actually wanted to taste and avoid being too drunk. The boys were totally sauced halfway through the tasting - and despite our best efforts to minimize how many we drank, Amira and I ended up drunk too, whoops!

David Li

Hand of the Queen

Amira and David experienced a missed connection during a trip up Yosemite's Half Dome with some mutual friends (David was distracted by a new girl he had just started seeing). Years later, Amira would take her first steps into climbing and run into David at Mission Cliffs on her first day. David wowed her with some epic V4 sends, and when the two were getting ready to leave, David noticed Amira's Ubers had repeated canceledly on her. Offering her a ride home, the two accidentally bonded over Ursula Le Guin, How I Met Your Mother, and the meaning of life. The two have been intrepidly linked trying to find the answer together ever since!
