Technically, Amira and Teddy first met at Dogpatch Boulders in San Francisco, but this was brief. Teddy struck up a conversation with her friend David, while Amira stood silently in the middle, feeling awkward as they chatted, for several minutes. Finally, she stuck out her hand at Teddy and said, "Hi I'm Amira" and he said quickly "Hi I'm Teddy" and immediately resumed his conversation with David. Suffice it to say, Amira's first impression of Teddy was: "how RUDE." They met again in Las Vegas on a climbing trip to Red Rocks, where they stayed up until 3am in an empty swimming pool talking about life. The next morning, Amira was too tired to climb, so she stayed home. Teddy got up at 7am to climb with her friend, Allison, but once they got to the rocks, he realized he forgot his shoes. He dropped Allison off with others and went back home to find Amira where they picked up from the previous night/morning. Teddy spent an hour telling Amira about his first (and only) high speed car chase. It was both a ridiculous and hilarious story. She was hooked. They eventually met up with the others to go bouldering (see header photo) and the rest is history, right now, and the future.
Teddy, naturally, over-extended himself planning the proposal and literally crashed and figuratively burned. Naturally, he sought Amira's help by, first, proposing to her in Napa (a month earlier than intended), and second, asking for help executing on the original proposal plans. Weeks later, on a quaint December 11 day, Amira set off on a full day treasure hunt across San Francisco: the climbing gym, the ferry building, A Mano, Golden Gate Park (ish), and home, all while interacting with countless friends, puzzles, and games along the way. This finally culminated in a Friends-filled (second) proposal, a TaskMaster show featuring 3 of Amira's luckiest friends, and a noise-complaint inducing celebration.
