Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Victoria Ames and Derek Easthon
The wedding venue is located in Ripley, New York - about 25 miles east of Erie, Pennsylvania. Erie is Victoria's hometown and the city where her & Derek's love story truly began. The two of them shared many memories while living near Lake Erie, from regular beach glass hunting sessions during the summers to digging their cars out of multiple feet of snow in the winters! Needless to say, we have our favorite Erie activities and want to share them with you for your enjoyment! You can also use this link to the Visit Erie website for other recommendations: https://www.visiterie.com/

Presque Isle State Park

301 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505

PI state park is a must-see if you are visiting Erie for the first time or if you simply want to relax, hike, bike, swim, play sand volleyball, and so much more!

Waldameer & Water World

220 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505

An amusement park and one of Erie's "claims to fame" including a wooden rollercoaster that crosses over a 4-lane highway! This is a perfect weekend activity if you are wanting to entertain the kids or if you love to try new coasters or water slides! Admission to the park is free, so you can just go explore or you can purchase food and ride tickets once you enter the park.

Sara's Restaurant

25 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505

One of Derek and Victoria's absolute favorite summer activities - Ice cream at Sara's Diner! Our favorite order: A footlong Smith's hotdog to share (with onions, relish, ketchup, mustard, and cheese!), curly fries, and 2 orange sherbet/vanilla twist ice creams (cone for her, cup for him!) Believe me when I say: nothing tastes so good after a long hike around Presque Isle or a long day of hunting for treasures on the beach in the hot sun!

John Russell Brewing Company Brew House & Restaurant

7520 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509

U Pick 6 locations in Erie all come highly recommended and are staples for us all year round, but especially in the summer months! Pier 6 Rooftop - Rooftop restaurant that overlooks the beautiful water of the Bayfront?! Say less! This is a perfect location for a date night or group hangout on the rooftop right as the sun is about to set. Highly recommend! John Russell Brewing - also a staple for us in the summer time. Chatting it up with an ice cold craft beer on the patio with the sunshine beating right down on you! Food selection is excellent. Our favorites: the reuben sandwich, the giant pretzel with addictingly delicious honey mustard and beer cheese, and any of their wood-fired brick oven pizzas! Favorites on tap: "Me & Julio" Mexican Lager with TWO limes Any John Russell IPA, but particularly "Pursue Your Hoppiness" "Blood Orange Sky" is a belgian tripel that reminds us of another staple from Voodoo Brewing in Erie ("Love Child") *Follow the link for other U Pick 6 locations

Whippy Dip 2

3100 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505

Whippy Dip Ice Cream! There are two locations in Erie and they are a must-try! We recommend the Blue Moon soft serve!

Splash Lagoon

8091 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509

Splash Lagoon: an indoor water park with tiki vibes! Not necessarily a staple for us, but fun for the kids if you will be traveling with your family. There is also a hotel attached to the water park and you can score a package deal if you're looking to stay there.

Oliver's Beer Garden

130 E Front St, Erie, PA 16507
, 8149209666

Oliver's Beer Garden is an outdoor bar and food truck that usually has live music on the weekends. Cornhole, fire pits, mini golf, and it's right on the bayfront so bonus points for the incredible view.
