The actual wedding will take place Saturday afternoon, but we'd love if you could join us before then! We'll be hanging at the lake Thursday and Friday, and will have a lakeside BBQ on Friday evening for all of our guests.
We heard your complaints. That made up dress code might've gotten a couple laughs when you got the your Save the Date but it wasn't doing anyone any favors now that the wedding is almost here. Dress codes have been updated with the hope that they're actually useful now. What it boils down to is cocktail attire for the wedding, and casual for the welcome dinner. If you've got any questions still, holler at us.
That's the plan, weather permitting. Which means you're going for a boat ride if you want to see us get hitched. Boats will begin leaving from the Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Taproom lawn (same place as Friday's welcome dinner) at 3:30. Last boat departs at 4:15. The ride is only a few minutes and the boats are accessible for all ages. If you arrive to the lawn somewhere in that window and there are no boats in sight, don't worry. They'll be taking multiple trips, so just wait 'til it makes its way back to shore.
Couple options. One, swim. But only if you're strong in the water. Two, hop into a kayak and start paddling. Three, wave down someone in a boat and give them a fistful of cash. Four, chill out and be first in line for happy hour. We'll be back on the mainland soon enough. (But seriously, if you miss the last boat, you're on your own.)
Wedding stuff, of course. But aside from normal wedding attire, you'll need a bathing suit if you want hop in the lake. And bug spray since we'll be in the woods. And sun screen if the weather does what we're hoping.
Not unless you hitchhike and some guy named Uber happens to pull over. As far as we've been able to tell, Uber and Lyft are basically non-existent in the area. There are some taxi services around, but please plan ahead.
You sure won't! Service at Lake Bomoseen is a bit rough, but hop on the guest wi-fi at the Lodge and you should be all set. It's the Guest network and the password is Bomoseen.
Well, we found this on Vermont's official website. Sounded pretty good to us, so we were sold immediately. "Too many ceremonies are hurried and the newlyweds are often unable to spend ample time with their friends and family. The attendees are a very crucial part of the experience. They are there to give love and support and bear witness to the joining of two souls. One thing that makes many regions in Vermont so popular for these occasions is the ability of Vermont's scenery to provide a soothing and harmonious ambiance. The result of this is a joyous yet calm emotion and ultimately a completely fulfilling ceremony that allows you to take in the moment and spend time appreciating your loved ones." So we basically picked it for you. And our souls. You're welcome.
If you're in need of a babysitter, please reach out to us. The staff at Lake Bomoseen have a handful of people they use on a regular basis for weddings, so you'll be in good hands.
No/no/yes...wait, we were distracted by that cute dog, nice try... no. To keep things manageable we can only accommodate the guests invited on your wedding invitation. But we are reasonable people, so please reach out if you have any questions.
