It's been nearly eight years since we met at a music festival in BC through mutual friends. They say some of the best relationships come out of great friendships, and we'd have to agree. Our friendship soon developed into romance and we have enjoyed spending these years cooking for each other, hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. These years have been filled with adventure, lots of laughs, and personal growth. Together we've hiked over 250km of backcountry trails in the Rocky Mountains, backpacked across Guatemala and Belize, driven over 1500km around Iceland's Ring Road and Western Fjords, gotten lost in the desert landscape of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California, in addition to the endless trips spent exploring the BC coast. It's been one heck of a ride and we're looking forward to the next great adventure!

We woke up very early this day to catch the first shuttle in Zion National Park to the Angel's Landing trailhead. We had watched countless videos, with sweaty palms, of people hiking this trail and decided to take a walk on the wild side and do it. After hiking up the steep switchbacks, we arrived at the beginning of the chains that take you up to the summit of this hike. We both kind of looked at each other with skepticism, but figured "we're already here, might as well go all the way!" We slowly made our way up the chains to the summit, trying not to look down, and celebrated our success at the top just as the sun was cresting over the red rock mountains. We had someone take a few photos of us and that's when Jesse turned to Sam, and with shaky legs got down on one knee and popped the question!
