FAQs

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Our wedding venue (both ceremony and reception) is at Brighton Resort, UT at the Millicent Chalet (or "Milly" Chalet). For those renting a car, there is a large, free parking lot at the venue. Rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) are in the area, though I would expect a ~30 minute wait time for a driver if you're ordering one at the venue as they make their way up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Getting a ride from SLC to the venue would be quick as most drivers wait and serve near SLC. We would recommend renting a car for convenience and to avoid any issues.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:30 PM. Please arrive no later than 5:15 PM to allow plenty of time to grab a refreshment and find a seat.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are many options! We do recommend staying close to the venue rather than at the base of the canyon, as Big Cottonwood Canyon is a very long, winding mountain road (not ideal to drive down at night). However, if a standard hotel is more your style, there are numerous hotels located right at the base of the canyon or Park City (Please note the drive down the canyon or to Park City takes approximately 25-30 minutes). View the "travel" subsection of the website for details on places to stay closer to the venue.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late September at an elevation of ~8,700 ft can be quite a gamble. We are keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine and a temperature in the high 60's in the daytime, but the nights can get colder around the 40's. I would prepare for anything, including snow! We will have outdoor heaters and indoor heated space, but definitely bring a coat for the evening.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony is planned to be outdoors, but we will have an indoor Plan B if necessary. Reception will be both indoor/outdoor at the same venue. We will have space heaters outside for the chilly night-time.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We don't have specifications other than wear your best dancing shoes, and bring a jacket/sweater/etc for when the sun goes down. For those truly wanting guidelines, semi-formal or cocktail attire will be just fine!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

As much as we love kids and wish everyone could be wish us on our special day, we cannot accommodate any children (unless specified on invitation) due to guest count restrictions at the wedding venue. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

I have more questions!

Answer

Please feel free to reach out to Evan or Amber if you have any other questions or concerns, or are looking for other travel tips for Utah.
