This love story starts with a failed DM slide, a whiskey bar, and an endless freight train…a chain of events that set into motion the love story we’re joyously celebrating today. Fresh from a sunny sabbatical overseas, a shaggy-haired Evan took to the place where any true impassioned romance starts...Facebook. It was there that a gorgeous grinning gal, with a hiking pack thrown over her shoulders, caught his eye. Leading with his best adolescent humor, Evan very nearly blew his shot. While the story should have ended there, fate found a way of intervening. A week or two later at The Warhorse whiskey bar, Evan and Amber’s paths miraculously crossed. Though Amber might have briefly thought Evan was a stalker, she let him occupy the available stool by her side. Soon the minutes melted away and the two talked about everything from their love of the outdoors, to travel and their shared taste in music. However, the night was calling and soon Amber’s friends tried to whisk her away to another bar across town. But fate had other plans, an endless train crossing blocked their cars' path! After 10 minutes of waiting they finally gave up and Amber texted Evan that she was returning to The Warhorse alone. Amber had later found out that Evan too had left the bar already, but swiftly returned upon receiving this text and reopened his bar tab. Evan did his best to play it cool and thank his lucky stars that the woman of his dreams was on her way back to him. Finding Evan right where she left him, the two were soon lost in conversation yet again. By the end of the night, their first date was scheduled and a new love had begun!

It’s only fitting that the commencement of a lifelong bond between Evan and Amber would involve their four legged fur child, Aubrey Sue. Beneath the Flatirons of Boulder, Colorado, Evan and Amber embarked on yet another one of their many strolls amongst the mountain peaks of the Intermountain West. However, unbeknownst to Amber, Evan had a ring in his pocket and champagne waiting on ice. With the help of Amber’s best friend, Brittany, employing diversion tactics, Evan swapped out Aubrey’s FSU collar for an embroidered collar reading, “Will You Marry My Dad???” After FINALLY noticing, Evan dropped to his knee amongst joyful cheers and applause from Amber's friends and family who were all in attendance. And the rest is history!
