How We Met

January 2005

Art remembers the first day that he saw Amber. She was hosting in Fantasyland while he passed through on the way to his car. Art knew that, somehow, he needed to get to know that girl. About a month later, they officially met when Art was helping at the audition that Amber attended for Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! at Disney California Adventure at The Disneyland Resort. It took a few times working together, but the two became fast friends.

Friends First

2005 - 2012

Art and Amber worked together, hung out in the same circle of friends, and got to know each other throughout their twenties. Timing never seemed to work out for the pair to actually begin dating until early in 2012 when timing finally worked out! They decided to make it official on May 2nd, 2012.

The Engagement

July 18th, 2016

On a whim, Amber bought tickets to a play in London, so the two decided to plan a trip! This trip would take them to London, Cardiff, and Paris. Over the next 8 months, Amber planned out all the details: the place to stay, the things to do, the places to go. While Amber planned the trip, Art secretly began looking for the ring, planning a secret dinner with both sets of parents, and asked permission to ask Amber to marry him. Amber's mom and grandma said yes (of course) the night before the couple left for Europe! On the seventh day of their trip, their final day in London before catching a train to Paris (and after a lot of secret location scouting on his part), Art asked Amber if they could return to Kensington Palace, a place they both fell in love with on their first day in London to take a photo that he wanted to get. Art and Amber went back to Kensington Gardens and found the perfect spot for this photo Art had in mind. Having done this at multiple other landmarks, Amber found a bench to sit on while Art meticulously set up his camera. After 20 minutes, Art was finally satisfied with the placement of his camera. He called Amber over and the two posed for a photo (or five, the camera was set to take continuous photos every few seconds.) After they were sure they had gotten their photo, Art turned to Amber and said, "There's just one more thing..." With a deep breath, a sweet speech, and nobody around, Art asked Amber to marry him. With tears of joy streaming down her face, Amber said yes... as the camera kept capturing photos.

Our Hashtag

#foreveramberandart

Our hashtag was surprisingly easy to come up with! Little known fact: Amber was named after the main character in a very lengthy fiction book called Forever Amber by Kathleen Windsor (Amber actually has a copy of the book and has read most of it... it’s over 1,000 pages!). So our hashtag is a result of the blend of the fictional story Amber was named after and the true love story of the two main characters celebrated at this wedding; Forever Amber and Art.
