We have rented this entire venue. This is where the welcome event, the pizza party, and the brunch will take place. If you wish to stay here, you must indicate it on your RSVP form and you will be contacted regarding available rooms and payment. You will be able to check in on Friday, May 24 at 4PM, and check out as late as 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28. Guests of Villa il Pozzo will receive a welcome breakfast basket and transportation to and from the wedding venue, Tenuta Corbinaia, on Saturday.

We have also rented this entire venue. If you wish to stay here, you must indicate it on your RSVP form. You will be able to check in on Friday, May 24 after 4:00 PM, and check out is by 10AM on Monday, May 27, but you may also extend your stay by contacting the property independently. Guests of La Poggiolaia will receive a welcome breakfast basket and transportation to and from the wedding venue, Tenuta Corbinaia, on Saturday. La Poggiolaia is an elegant hilltop farmstead just up the road! (It’s located just a 15-minute walk or a 3-minute drive from Villa il Pozzo.)
Flight
Airports
Florence has one small airport, Amerigo Vespucci Airport. The second closest airport is the Pisa Airport, Galileo Galilei. However, sometimes it is easier to fly to Bologna or Rome, and then take a fast train to Florence. Over our last trips to Italy we have noticed more affordable ( and nonstop) flights from NYC to Milan, and preferred doing that and then taking the train or renting a car.
Travel Note
Uber
Since picking our wedding venue, Uber Black and Uber Van have come to Tuscany! However, it is not the most affordable option and we do not know how reliable it is at night.
Rental Car
Rent a Car
If you enjoy the freedom to move around on your own, we definitely recommend renting a car! All the major rental car companies operate in Italy and there’s rarely any traffic outside of the historic city centers. We’ve rented a car almost every time we have come to visit Italy. Do be aware that there are a lot of tolls in the highways, and local streets and bridges can be very narrow compared to the U.S. Some of the narrowest streets are not even one way!

Florence to Certaldo
Certaldo is on the “Firenze – Empoli – Siena” railway. From Florence airport: Take the tramway (www.gestramvia.com) to the main Florence train station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) and take train, “Firenze – Siena” railway, direction Siena. Get off at the Certaldo train station.

If you'd like to stay closer to Florence, Villa Olmi is a great option with a pool, a beautiful garden, free parking, free breakfast, and a restaurant. They also offer a shuttle to the center of Florence, and could probably set up transportation for you to the wedding activities since it is 40 minutes away. We stayed here in May, 2023. Driving Time to Villa il Pozzo: 40 minutes Driving Time to Tenuta Corbinaia: 45 minutes
