The RSVP box is already open! You may answer at any time. We know you received (or will receive) the invite sooner than with traditional and domestic weddings, but please RSVP online as soon as you know your answer. Importantly, we ask those that already know (or have a strong inkling that they will not or cannot attend), to RSVP “no” or talk to us. The official, final date to RSVP is March 31, 2024.
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. If you think you might have to cancel, please keep us in the loop and communicate with us. We have always wanted an intimate wedding, but we are lucky to know so many people around the world, so we could not extend invites or plus-ones to some people we still really care about. If you RSVP “no”, your invite will likely be extended to someone else; please take this into consideration.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be a child-free event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us and completely understand if you are not able to join us because of this policy.
Absolutely not! We understand not everyone can go to Italy for the weekend or week; there are a lot of logistics involved. We too have been students, and now working professionals, so we understand time-off problems, financial difficulties, or even having an incoming trial or bar exam to study for. We wish we could celebrate with you in Italy, but we can celebrate in the US too. However, please be mindful.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on the wedding invitation (not the save-the-date). If you received a plus-one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. If you did not get a plus-one and wish you to have one, please let us know and we will put them on the waitlist. While we might not be able to accommodate your plus-one at the wedding, we might be able to do so for the rehearsal dinner and/or day-after brunch, (Everyone is welcome to attend the Friday welcome event.) If you still wish to have them attend, please communicate with us. We appreciate your understanding.
Yes, you should find it under the registry tab on this website.
Florence has one small airport, Amerigo Vespucci Airport. The second closest airport is the Pisa Airport, Galileo Galilei. However, sometimes it is easier to fly to Milan, Bologna or Rome, and then take a fast train to Florence. Over our last few trips to Italy, we have noticed more affordable (and nonstop) flights from NYC to Milan, and preferred doing that and then taking the train.
Sort of! We reserved all the rooms at Villa il Pozzo and La Poggiolaia for our guests. All 52 spots were booked on a first-RSVP, first-served basis. If you wish to be added on the waitlist please indicate it in your RSVP form and you will be contacted for room selection and payment. We will also be prioritizing those traveling from overseas. The rooms at Villa il Pozzo will be for a 4 night stay. Friday May, 24 at 4PM to Tuesday May 28, at 10AM, although you may leave sooner. The rooms at La Poggiolaia will be for a 3 night stay. Friday May, 24 at 4PM to Monday May 27 at 10AM.
There are some Ubers in Florence/Tuscany as of May, 2023, it is unclear how many or readily available they are. Taxis are transparently priced and reliable, so they are not a problem. To get a taxi, you will need to go to a taxi stand or call/text a taxi. Not all taxis accept payment with a card. Having cash is your best bet when taking a taxi in Italy. If you do only have a card, make sure to ask if you can pay with a card before you jump in a taxi and take off. If you want to be more independent and do day trips we strongly recommend renting a car, which can be extremely affordable. The train system has also been very reliable in our eyes, we have gone from Milan, to Modena, to Bologna, to La Spezia, to Milan, and to Varenna in Lake Como in train, as well as from Florence to Naples, and Naples to Sorrento.
Your passport: Make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond when you are returning to the U.S. International phone plan / a SIM card: We highly recommend checking with your cell phone provider for an international plan or, if your phone has the right capabilities, getting a Google phone, or buying a SIM card when you arrive in Italy.
May offers the perfect time to visit Tuscany. Spring is in full bloom. Though the weather can be a little temperamental, it is more consistent with fewer bouts of rain, more hours of sunshine, and daily temperatures ranging between 54°F to 73°F (12-23°C) with the occasional mercury spike of 86°F (30°C).
Yes. There will be a welcome event, the rehearsal dinner, and the day-after brunch. We ask that you RSVP (yes or no) to each of them!
Yes, this one we called Florentine Festive. Think, smart casual, cocktail, summer soirée... • Avoid wearing a solid white dress or anything close to it, like cream, ivory, etc, but beige is okay! • We prefer no jeans and no flip flops Please note that this venue has mostly grass and cobblestone walkways. For outfit inspirations, please visit this Pinterest board: https://pin.it/3KhFUAQ
Yes, Creative Black Tie! A Creative Black Tie dress code allows for some flexibility and personal expression within the formal attire, giving guests the opportunity to showcase their individual style while adhering to the formal tone of the event. We want to see you dress to impress but most importantly dress like your best self! Venice Festival vibes? Want to show your best Jennifer Coolidge/Tanya in Taomima impression? Go for it. We encourage pops of texture and color to your formal wear throughout the weekend. Black is associated in Italy (as in many other countries) with mourning, but if that is how you feel your best, go for it! We hope this description offers a bit of flexibility, but there are still some rules we ask that you kindly adhere to: • Avoid wearing a white dress or anything close to it, like cream, ivory, etc. • Those not wearing dresses should wear a jacket, either in the form of a tux or suit (a light color suit or tux is also appropriate) • No jeans Please note that there will be grass and cobblestone walkways at this venue. No.
Both will take place at Tenuta Corbinaia. The ceremony is followed by the cocktail hour and then dinner, which will all take place outdoors (weather-pending).
If you have your own car, you will find the venue to be easily accessible. There will be signs directing you to the parking lot. For those staying at Villa il Pozzo and La Poggolaia, or that reserved a spot on the bus with us from Hotel Certaldo, the buses will depart to Tenuta Corbinaia from Hotel Certaldo at 3:00 pm and from Villa il Pozzo and La Poggolaia at 3:15 pm. The return to Villa il Pozzo, La Poggolaia, and Hotel Certaldo will be at 1:00 a.m. Remember, Uber is not reliable in the hills of Tuscany. If you are not renting a car, will be staying elsewhere, or prefer to return to your Villa at an earlier time, you will need to (or are encouraged to) make other arrangements in advance.
The transportation from Il Pozzo and La Poggolaia will leave at 3:15 PM sharp, and from Hotel Certaldo at 3 PM, we recommend you meet in the parking lot 15 minutes before departure. If you are arriving independently, we recommend that you plan to arrive at 3:45 PM, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
There is a free parking lot.
For the most part, no! We hope you will take lots of amazing pictures. That being said, we ask that you don’t use your phone during the wedding ceremony. Once the officiant asks you to put your phone away, please abide. When we look up we do not want to see screens everywhere. We want you to celebrate with us and be in the moment with us.
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag us so we can keep track of all of your pictures. Additionally all of our Apple-using guests will be invited to a shared album.
If you request it, yes! Please let us know on the RSVP form.
1:00 AM and the (completely optional) after-party will continue at Villa il Pozzo. We don’t know how long we will last.
Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to gift us for our wedding, we ask that you contribute through the registry or by mailing it to our New York address. We will be going on our honeymoon directly from Italy and will be unable to bring any additional things in our luggage.
Up to you! Our last event will be the Brunch/Pool-Party, Monday, May 27. We understand if you cannot attend but request that you please RSVP accordingly. Guests of Villa il Pozzo must check out by 10:00 AM on Tuesday. La Poggiolaia guests have the option to check out on Monday by 10:00 AM.
Check out the “Things To Do” Tab. Also, the Tower of Pisa is an hour away.
If you plan to stay in Italy for longer than our wedding weekend, there are so many places you can visit. Still relatively close from the venues, just around 2 hours away in car, or 2 hours and a half from Florence in transit, you can find Cinque Terre in the Italian Riviera. We visited these 5 charming villages in the summer of 2021, and loved them. We slept in La Spezia, and on the first day visited Riomaggiore and Manarota, and the next day Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare. Walking into Riomaggiore from the train truly took our breath away, we had the most amazing aperitivo and view from Bar la Torre in Vernazza, saw the most special sunset in Manarola, and had a perfect beach day in Monterosso al Mare. All of these villages are easily accessible by train or hike. Recommend watching Luca beforehand. After Cinque Terre, we wish we would have spent some time in Genoa and Portofino, which we passed by in our train from La Spezia back to Milan. If you want to travel further south, you can try the best pizza of your life in Naples, and swim in the beautiful beaches of Capri and Positano. If you want to explore the Adriatic Sea instead, we visited the region of Puglia for venue-searching and it was a wonderful time even though it was mostly raining, In May, you will get wonderful weather and get to properly explore the wonderful beaches too! Try the panzerotti! And if you also watched White Lotus, you might also want to explore Sicily. Go for it! Otherwise, there’s also stunning beaches in the less touristy island of Sardinia.
If beaches aren’t your jam, and want to have some of the best food of your life instead, we strongly recommend the region of Emilia-Romagna, home of Lasagna and where you can find Amaya’s father’s home, Bologna, yes like the sauce! But you cannot call it like that anymore, the dish is now Talgliatelle al ragù. Bologna is one hour and a half from Florence in car and less by transit! In this region you may also find Modena (balsamic vinegar is made only here and in Reggio Emilia, and you must try it in its authentic form), and Parma (and yes like the prosciutto, try it with gnocco fritto), also easily accessible by train. Parmigiano Reggiano is also produced in this region, bring some home! And you cannot leave without having some tortellini. Food is clearly one of the ways to our heart but if you are into automobiles, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Ducati all come from this region. If you are landing or leaving from Milan you must go to Lake Como, only an hour away from Milan in train or car. This region is the whole reason why we decided to get married in Italy, and it does not cease to take our breath away every time we visit. We recommend staying in Bellagio or Varenna, and visiting lidos, Villa del Balbianello, Villa Carlotta, and Villa Monastero. Clearly there’s so much to do in Italy, 2.5 hours from Florence there’s Rome. Some of you might land there and you should definitely take some time to see some of the worlds most famous sites; the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, etc. Even farther away, of course, there’s Venice.
Text us! If you know both of us, a group chat is encouraged.
