Cocktail attire. Nothing floor-length required, but be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
The ceremony begins at 6 pm, so anytime between 5:30 pm and 6 pm is great!
Unfortunately, the parking lot at the mansion is not conducive to easy navigation by a large shuttle. If you're not driving or catching a ride with a friend, please plan on using a ride share/taxi service to get to and from Hartwood. If you're staying downtown, Ubers and Lyfts will be available to take you to Hartwood (although you may want to plan as if you're getting to the ceremony at 5:30 pm to leave yourself time to wait for a driver). However, the availability of Ubers and Lyfts in the area around Hartwood at the end of the reception will be limited. For your trip back, we recommend using zTrip (https://www.ztrip.com/pittsburgh/) (also available as an app), which allows you to order a 4-passenger or 5-passenger car ahead of time to pick you up at a specific location and time. Pricing for zTrip is comparable with most taxis.
We will have a cocktail party style reception that will begin right after the ceremony ends. There will be many delicious heavy hors d'oeuvres style small bites to choose from among 3 serving stations. We will have vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options, and all bites will be peanut-free, but if there are any dietary restrictions and/or allergies you would like us to know about, please get in touch.
DISCLAIMER: We love you and we love your children very much (so please break the news to them gently). Due to limitations at the venue, we will only have space for our guests age 13 and up. If this presents any challenges, please contact us personally.
Unfortunately, due to the venue's limitations, if we did not specifically mark your invitation with your name "and guest," we will not have extra space for you to bring a date. Don't worry, you can dance with DeRose.
The ceremony will take place outdoors, and the reception area will be covered by a pavilion that will allow for free air flow. The restrooms are located indoors next to the ceremony terrace and will be marked with a sign. (There is also a bathroom trailer [the classy kind] past the house toward the upper parking lot.)
September in Pittsburgh is generally warm and dry, with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 50s, so it may be wise to have a sweater or light jacket on hand.
Yes, there is free parking in a lot at the mansion, and staff members will be there to direct you.
Yes! It’s #bambehrhardt. (We couldn’t resist.)
Awesome! Just let us know personally ASAP and we'll get back to everyone with information about tickets once we have a finalized tally.
We're going to outsource this one to the current CDC guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/if-you-were-exposed.html If you aren't feeling well the day of the wedding, we'd recommend doing an at-home test, which are available at most drug stores.
