6:30 pm
In celebration of our combined Pennsylvania/Chicago cohorts, we thought it would be fun to go see the Pirates take on the Cubs! If you're planning on being in town already and would like to go to the game, let us know and we'll work on trying to find an area where everyone can get tickets together. As a bonus, it's dollar hot dog night at the ball park! (Apologies to the Chicagoans for the presence of ketchup--Burghers love their Heinz!)
8:00 pm
Mochtest du am Freitag Nacht Spass machen? (Would you like to have fun on Friday night?) If the answer is "Ja wohl!", Penn Brewery on Pittsburgh's Northside will be hosting Oktoberfest on Friday, September 23rd, and will feature a large outdoor area with music and plenty of good German food. If anybody would like to meet and mingle with fellow wedding guests ahead of Saturday's festivities, feel free to swing by! Prost! *As an FYI, Penn Brewery has indicated that the event is cash-only.
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Cocktail attire.
The ceremony will be held outdoors on the terrace adjoining the mansion. Although the walkways leading to the terrace are covered in stone, the terrace itself is grass. Parking is available in a lot next to the mansion.
6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
A cocktail party-style reception with small bites/heavy hor d'oeuvres* and an open bar (as well as that famous Pittsburgh cookie table filled with homemade treats from family and friends!) will begin immediately after the ceremony ends on the second terrace (bar) and pavilion (food and seating) that adjoin the ceremony terrace. Tunes from local 7-piece band Dr. Zoot will begin at 7 pm! *Gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free options will be available.
