Travel Note
OUR RECOMMENDED OPTION: TAXI or PRIVATE TRANSFER This is our recommended option. It is the easiest way to get from Naples Airport/Train Station to Positano after a long flight and transporting your luggage. Taxis are available at the airport or you can arrange a private car transfer online ahead of time. Time: 60-90 mins, depending on traffic Cost: 90- 140 euros (2-4 people, can also hire larger vehicles for more people) We recommend asking your accommodations for help arranging this. Alternatively, you can try one of the below options: Private transfer company info@limocarservice.net or call 0039 (0)89 811624 Or book online with https://mydaytrip.com/landing/naples-to-positano
Rental Car
Before you decide to rent a car, we have a few important notes: 1. Check with your accommodations to see if they offer parking. Parking is extremely limited in Positano, so if they do not have parking where you are staying, then you probably don't want to rent a car. 2. There are a few public parking garages in Positano. However, if you plan to park in a public parking garage: - Make sure you have insurance coverage on your rental car (this can be through your credit card). Unfortunately, we’ve heard some rumors that cars have come out of the garages with some light damage/scratches. - Before entering the garage, be sure to receive a receipt with the amount per day they agreed to charge you. They are known to say one price upon entry and charge you double when leaving 😑. - This is a garage that our wedding planner recommended, though she gave me all of the warnings above: https://mandara.it/ - Look into reserving a space in advance 3. Driving along the Amalfi Coast is stunning but harrowing. The roads are narrow and winding and you often have to maneuver around large tour buses and speedy vespas. It is not for the faint of heart!
Train
This is a slightly cheaper option for getting to Positano, but requires a few transfers. 5 min airport bus + Train + Taxi Time: Around 2 hours Price: Around 35-50 euros per person
Train
This is the cheapest, but slowest option and requires a transfer from a bus from the airport to catch the ferry, then from ferry port to accommodation. However, it is a nice opportunity to ride on a ferry if this interests you. Airport bus/train transfer + Ferry + Taxi Time: Around 3 hours Cost: 20-30 euros per person
