Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Amanda Nevarez and Derek Deschene
There's no shortage of amazing things to see and do in and around Positano. If your schedule permits, we recommend coming to Italy for at least a week, so you can have plenty of time to enjoy all that the Amalfi Coast has to offer!
La Sponda

La Sponda

Dine - Fine Dining $$$$ Just above the striking, mosaic-coated dome of the church of Santa Maria Assunta sits restaurant La Sponda – with a color palette inspired by its jade greens and burnished golds – this magical fairy garden of a restaurant is wrapped in vines and lit by hundreds of glimmering candles. It’s part of the legendary La Sirenuse hotel, where reverent staff are just waiting to bring you suckling pork or citrus-spritzed lobster, in front of a show-stopping view of Positano. It’s hyper-romantic, with twinkling stars and musician serenades. Reservations Required.

Chez Black

Chez Black

Dine - Contemporary Casual $$$ Iconic Chez Black sits on Positano’s seafront, where glossy walnut pillars and Tiffany-blue seating set the tone for an upmarket, yachty experience. It’s known for its spaghetti studded with bright orange sea urchins and heart-shaped pizzas – so share a few mains if you can. It’s flashy in a fun, only-in-Italy kind of way, with warm, attentive staff who up the luxury factor. Reservations strongly recommended.

Saraceno d'Oro

Saraceno d'Oro

Dine - Casual $$ High on Positano’s hillside, Saraceno d'Oro restaurant has alfresco benches under the trees at one side of the road, and a cool white dining room with wood paneling and wrought-iron lanterns at the other. It’s family-run and super handy for many of the town’s hotels – and renowned for its delicious pizzas. Many Amalfi fans come here several times per trip, in search of a more down-to-earth vibe than the yacht crowd’s haunts elsewhere. Share a few dishes and a bottle of wine – you won’t sweat over the shock of a huge bill, either. Reservations recommended.

Casa E Bottega

Casa E Bottega

Dine - Cafe $ Casa E Botega is special in that it is a rare find on the coast – a health-forward contemporary Italian café bringing the clean living trend to Positano. Part shop, part restaurant you will find some more indulgent choices such as cakes and natural gelato on the menu, but the real focus here is on freshly squeezed juices, smoothie bowls and gourmet salads. A great choice for breakfast or a light lunch, especially if you are after some relief from all those delicious carbs!

Franco's Bar

Franco's Bar

Drink - Upscale $$$ Franco's Bar is a legendary locale in Positano. If you want a swanky experience with stellar ocean views, then head here. This is an old-fashioned watering hole with an upscale twist. The drink menu is designed as a throw-back to the golden age of cocktails and bubbly, a true bar where no food is served aside from the cicchetti or "nibbles "that accompany the drinks. They do not accept reservations, so be prepared for a wait.

Da Adolfo

Da Adolfo

Dine - Casual $$ Another Positano institution, Da Adolfo is a small restaurant that can only be reached by taking the iconic "Red Fish Boat" from the pier at Spiaggia Grande in Positano (the boat is the one with the red fish-shaped sign with Da Adolfo written on it). The rustic, casual seaside restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious lunch on a sunny day. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious! The dishes change on a daily basis and are written on a chalkboard. They serve a short list of simple, local specialties to choose from, and all of the ingredients are super fresh. Reservations recommended.

Scenic coastal drive to Ravello

Scenic coastal drive to Ravello

Activity - Day Trip Aside from Positano, Ravello is our favorite town on the Amalfi Coast and well worth a visit! You could go for a day trip from Positano or add it on as an extra stop on your vacation and spend a few nights there! If you just want to go for the day you can rent a car or vespas and stop at some of the other scenic towns along the way! The drive is absolutely breathtaking with incredible views the entire way. Derek and I did this on a vespa and it was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip! Note: the drive can be a bit harrowing at times with hairpin turns and narrow roads.

Hike the Path of the Gods

Hike the Path of the Gods

Activity - Hike The Path Of The Gods Trail is a 7 km path across the ridge from Nocelle to Bomerano. You'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Amalfi coastline from the moment you step foot onto the trail, until the moment you leave. The path got its name due to its incredible awe-inducing views, much like one would imagine when looking from the heavens. It's frequently noted as one of the most spectacular hikes in the world. Check out the blog below for more information and how to get to the trailheads from Positano.

Boat trip to Capri

Boat trip to Capri

Activity - Day Trip Capri is a famed island off the coast of western Italy. We will be having a boat day along the Amalfi coast for all guests, but if you love being on the water, you could schedule another boat tour to Capri. There are a number of companies in Positano that offer full-day adventures there. Alternatively, if you have a few extra days, spend a few nights on the island and experience all Capri has to offer!

Church of Santa Maria Assunta

Church of Santa Maria Assunta

Activity: Sightseeing We're sure you've seen photos of Positano's famed church. The intricate, mosaic dome is one of Positano's most recognizable landmarks. If historic architecture and religion pique your interest, then we highly recommend a visit to the famed cathedral.

For all the days along the way
