Alyssa & Connor both grew up in the same town, Bedford, NH. However, they were merely acquaintances in a fairly large high school. Alyssa remembers Connor as the guy who built the spear fishing gun from scratch for his senior project and outdid the entire senior class. Connor remembers Alyssa as the cheerleader who took the AP classes he convinced his mom not to sign him up for. Little did they know, their paths would soon cross in an unexpected series of events. Both Connor and Alyssa attended UNH for college and through mutual friends of the UNH Sailing Team, they ended up living in the same house in Lee, NH during their Junior and Senior years. What started as a friendship soon evolved into something more. While "typical" couples may need to move in together before discovering one another's flaws, Connor fully accepted that Alyssa would never fill the ice trays and Alyssa accepted that she would always clean the beard hairs out of the sink long before they even shared their first kiss. They have cohabited in that fashion since 2014 - if that's not true love, we don't know what is!
For many years, Connor and Alyssa eagerly planned a summer camping trip every August. Summer of 2021 rolled around and they decided to plan a trip to Gaspe, Canada as travel restrictions from Covid had just eased. Two days before said planned trip, Alyssa realized her passport had expired. Connor, in a frantic attempt to salvage the trip, went as far as contacting Governor Sununu to see about getting an expedited passport renewal. When all attempts failed, they reworked their trip to be a coastal Maine adventure. They found themselves boat camping on the Maine Island Trail at Steve's Island off the coast of Stonington, ME. After three days of waiting for "the perfect sunset," Connor was instead rewarded with a glass calm boat trip 20 miles off-shore to a tiny island surrounded by puffins. After such an unbelievable day, Connor decided that today was the day. He popped the question that evening by the water at their campsite. Alyssa was so excited, she fell into a tide pool (thankfully not holding the ring). They spent the rest of the perfect weekend celebrating, relaxing, and exploring the Maine coast which has now become a favorite spot to visit and the place where they get to say "I do" with their closest family and friends!
