Andy and Aly met in 2022, working at the Montessori School of Denver. In addition to working together in the After School Program, Andy was one of Joe’s, Aly’s son’s, classroom teachers. After several months of working together, Aly and Andy hung out for the first time outside of work at a co-workers birthday party. They rode the light rail together and, as they traveled, realized they have been connected by an invisible string their whole lives. They both grew up in Littleton, both ran cross country, liked a lot of similar music artists, and had attended many of the same concerts and events before the string brought them together at MSD. The two hung out a few more times, igniting their mutual passion of adventuring around Colorado, before their relationship officially began on February 27, 2022. For the last three years, the couple has been continuing to play outside together– skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, camping, mountain biking, and enjoying nature. They have traveled around the country and crossed oceans together. They moved in together in January 2023, and have been loving raising Joe and their two cats in the comfort of the Sweet House. Then, on August 1st, 2024 during a camping trip in Winter Park, Colorado, Andy got down on one knee and asked Aly to marry him with Joe witnessing this beautiful act of love. Following the proposal, Aly and Andy’s closest friends and family joined in a surprise lunch in town. And the rest, dear friends and family, is both our history and our future.
