Waterfront dining and Tex-Mex on Lake Hopatcong! The atmosphere is a ton of fun and the food is delicious; we're regulars. Lake Hopatcong borders Jefferson Township (where we live now) and Roxbury Township (where we grew up). We recommend their homemade guac!
Super convenient location on Route 15, just off of Route 80, this is the perfect meetup spot with friends! You'll probably pass this spot on the way to Rock Island Lake Club or our home! The food is awesome and they have a great craft-beer selection. (Get their GIANT mozzarella sticks!!!)
A industrial, trendy, and beautiful restaurant & bar "where history meets elegance" in the heart of Sparta, NJ, about 15 minutes away from Rock Island Lake Club. We went here for Valentines Day 2023, and the food & atmosphere were great. =)
Located on Lake Mohawk in Sparta, just 8 minutes from Rock Island Lake Club, this charming old-world restaurant serves pub grub and homemade brews. Afterwards, take a stroll through downtown shops in Sparta and the short boardwalk overlooking the lake.
Waterfront beautiful views on Lake Hopatcong, with Italian food and a really neat boat-shaped bar! You can find us here if we're feeling a fancy night out. Lake Hopatcong borders Jefferson Township (where we live now) and Roxbury Township (where we grew up).
This one was a no-brainer! Allison's favorite food is ice cream and nothing quite beats Cliffs, located in our hometown, Roxbury. This old-school stand has over 70+ flavors of homemade ice cream, has been on The Food Network, and has won national awards! This was also one of Kevyn & Allison's first dates. =)
Attention WINE-lovers! Totally worth the drive past the NJ border into NY, spend a few leisurely hours here enjoying the outdoor seating areas and great company. They offer fun tastings and live music! (We recommend their Harvest Moon White Wine & Pear Cider!)
This is an easy stroll, about 2 miles (3km) long, on a scenic "boardwalk" hiking trail along the Appalachian Mountains. It even goes on a small bridge! Check out the link for the "Stairway to Heaven" trail, too, which is a difficult challenge.
Enjoy this 18-hole golf course and driving range, with scenic views just 2 minutes away from our house. Allison's dad went out and purchased her a set of golf clubs shortly after moving in... let's just say she hasn't gotten past the driving range yet. =)
Let out your inner-rage and experience the thrill of throwing an axe (at a wooden target). It's also BYOB and a great way to relax and unwind.
(for young children) Just 2 minutes from our home in Oak Ridge, this adorable Fairy-Tale Forest just re-opened post COVID. The building is in the shape of a shoe! We haven't been there ourselves, but have heard they feature all the classics.
