odds & ends

The Wedding Website of Allison Dikanovic and Bob Sykora
We will be adding more information here as we continue to plan. :)

Getting around Kansas City

You'll need to take a car (Uber or Lyft) from the airport to wherever you're staying. If possible, we recommend staying near and taking the KC Streetcar, which is totally free to ride. All wedding events (and both hotels where we have room blocks) are located in walking distance of streetcar stops. (The longest walk is 11 minutes to the pavilion for the park picnic on Saturday. Others are shorter, like 3-7 minutes.) Otherwise, KC is very car-dependent. We have buses, but they come fairly infrequently and are harder to navigate if you're not familiar with the area. If you're staying in a different hotel or in an Airbnb away from the streetcar line, you'll need to plan on taking Ubers or Lyfts, or renting a car. Let us know if you have questions about locations! The link below will take you to a Google map we made with the locations of all wedding events and relevant streetcar stops. We hope it's helpful!

What to do in KC

We are so excited to share Kansas City with our loved ones coming into town from all over. If helpful or fun, we made a Google doc full of some of our favorite restaurants and things we recommend you check out while here. (Yes, including but not limited to barbecue!)

Kids & guests

While we love them lots, we are not able to accommodate children at our wedding ceremony or reception — unless your name is Arthur and you are our nephew. :) Your invitation and online RSVP will indicate if we’ve accounted for you bringing a guest with you or not. If you need us to help in some way to make it possible for you to attend and celebrate with us, please call or text Allison or Bob. We’d be happy to chat more one-on-one. It's easiest to find the best possible solutions if we can talk directly about individual situations.

Dress code

Cocktail attire! We want our guests to feel cute and comfy. We're thinking fun and fancy but not super formal. No gowns or tuxes. Would love to avoid shorts and casual sundresses. Suits would be cool. Ties are optional. Dresses of any length, jumpsuits, etc. are all great. Please don't sweat it, but if you have any questions, feel free to text Allison. As some of y’all know, she’s happy to talk outfits any day. We are attaching a link to a Pinterest mood board for inspiration ONLY if that is fun for you. These colors or overall aesthetic are NOT AT ALL mandatory. We've just been having fun planning and wanted to share some of our vision with friends who would enjoy it, if anyone wants to play along. Do not feel like you need to go out of your way to buy something new for this.

Registry

While half of our wedding fund will go toward house projects and a honeymoon trip, we will be donating the other half to two community organizations in Kansas City. You can learn more about both by clicking on the link below.
