We met on Tinder. Yes, we know Tinder is a dating app typically known for only hookups but that wasn't our goal. We both were tired of the regular dating scene at Penn State and wanted to try something different. We matched on the app during Thanksgiving break on Sunday, November 26, 2017. We had our first date on that Wednesday and then we were official girlfriend and boyfriend status by the end of the week. Yes, that was quick but it was pretty much love at first conversation. The date and finding out that we were born on the same day just solidified it. When you know, you know!

As many of you know, I (Alline) am an auditor for Deloitte, and I work 60+ hours a week during our winter busy season. We were supposed to be on vacation for the weekend Dave planned the proposal, but Deloitte clearly had different plans lol. Dave planned months in advance to propose at a fancy winery, but my work got in the way and caused us to miss our reservation. Dave was still determined to make me his fiancée by the end of the night, so he arranged a double date to a stand up comedy show around 8pm at Urban Tree Cidery. I absolutely loved it! After the show, we went to one of our favorite spots in the city: Ponce City Market. Dave and his friend casually brought up both couples taking photos, and my clueless self thought nothing of it. Dave had me stand in the iconic Titanic flying pose, and when I turned around, he was on one knee. It took me a few moments to collect myself and confirm he was serious, but after that, I finally said yes!
