A great spot for breakfast or brunch! We especially love their biscuits.
A great spot for lunch! Nestled in the countryside surrounded by horse farms, this lunch spot is a bit outside Lexington proper - but the picturesque views and phenomenal food make the drive well worth it. Alison's pick? Their super food salad. Caleb prefers their "crispy chicken sammich!"
Great food and ambience. This is a great option for a nice dinner out! Cuisine: New American
A lovely spot for a nice Italian dinner. We especially recommend their focaccia and their caprese salad.
The *best* ice cream! Their "signature chip" flavors are especially great.
A fun -- and free -- art museum, right in the heart of downtown Lexington!
An independent movie theater that has all of the old-school movie theater charm.
Keeneland horse races will be going on the whole month of October!
This picturesque distillery is just 30 minutes outside of Lexington, in Frankfort - the state capital! Other options for distillery tours that are in Lexington proper are Bluegrass Distillers and Fresh Bourbon Distillery.
A great nearby place for hiking -- and one of the trails ends at a lookout over the Kentucky River!
Right on UK's campus, the Arboretum has some spectacular flowers and peaceful walking trails.
A great spot for an outdoor walk in Lexington! Depending out the route you take, you may even get a glimpse of this very old, very large tree (pictured).
About an hour outside of Lexington, Red River Gorge is known for hiking and climbing! A must see for those who can add an extra day onto their trip.
