Things To Do

Don't be surprised, Des Moines has a lot to offer! The bride is a huge foodie, so please reach out if you're looking for a particular cuisine.

Gray's Lake

2101 Fleur Drive,

One of our first dates was walking around Gray's Lake. It has a lively 2 mile walking path.

Mars Cafe

2318 University Avenue,

This is where we met, though we had to find another place as it was closing when we arrived. Groovy vibes, great lattes.

Smokey Row Coffee Co.

1910 Cottage Grove Avenue,

We had a our first meet-up here. It has a diner vibe with a large selection of espresso drinks, ice cream, teas, and baked goods.

El Bait Shop

200 Southwest 2nd Street,

They have a huge selection of beers on tap and great food, we always bring out-of-town guests here!

East Village

Des Moines, IA

Not quite like the one in New York, but it's a quaint district with boutiques, restaurants, and bars. Our favorites are Raygun, Zombie Burger, Up-Down DSM, and Iowa Taproom.

Des Moines' Downtown Farmers’ Market

400 Court Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309
, (515) 286-4928

If you happen to be in town on Saturday morning consider visiting the Farmers' Market. There are Covid-19 restrictions this time around, please check out their website for more info.
