Maid of Honor
I first met Elaine when she was born; I was 3 1/2 years old and cried so our Papa bought me a toy from the hospital gift shop. We've been close ever since. Elaine is the best sister you could grow up with. As a built in best friend, we are both able to quote episodes of Friends, have a love for breakfast foods and enjoy playing Monopoly with our cousins for hours! She's always been so fun to be around, gives the best advice and has always been so supportive of me.
Maid of Honor
Don't let this one fool you... she is tiny but MIGHTY! Our friendship began with a fair share of hesitance on Kathryn's side (there's some joke about 18 year olds and decision-making here...), and through it all, Jennifer has been an absolute tried and true fellow Gilmore Girls fanatic, Harry Potter-lover, and genuine "sister I never had."

Xenia is the Chanel to my Galleria. As the older grandchildren on our mother's sides, we are a dynamic duo! We loved playing with our younger siblings, but LIVED for some "older girl time". Xenia is so kind, thoughtful and fun to be around. Our friendship as we've grown up has developed into one filled with conversations of social justice, learning about our Peruvian roots and taking down the patriarchy. I truly admire her and believe she will do great things.

My older brother - WHAT A GUY! What impresses me most about Matt is his emotional vulnerability. In a lot of ways, Matt and I are SO similar, and that is why we know just how to push each other's buttons - in the best way possible. He never misses a chance to support me, and was one of the first people to start pointing out/purchasing rainbow gear after I first came out.
Bridesmaid
Selena is, to put it simply, a hoot! As our younger cousin, she has made her presence known with her jokes, funny side comments and general hilarity. Selena is the cool cousin I strived to be when I was younger. She will make you laugh so hard that milk comes up your nose and somehow give you advice for how to act around your crush. Selena has a heart of gold and will go out of her way to make sure the people in her life are taken care of.

My little brother - MAN, I love this guy. Dan and I have almost nothing in common on paper, but we do share a curiosity for the world, and a genuine interest in each other's lives and interests. Dan and I are constantly rooting each other on, and my big day will be no different.

Kaylee (far left) is a true gem! I met her my very first summer working at Suttle Lake. Our mutual friend, Lianne, found out we'd be working at camp and was so excited and told us both "You two will be best friends!" And was she right! Kaylee and I share a love of Sara Bareilles, car adventures and potatoes (she's partly why I started going vegetarian!) She is one of my most creative friends and I envy her creativity! She's also one of the most chill people I've ever met; she'll be down to stay at home and read books, will talk to you all night about anything or spontaneously drive to Washington with you because "why not?"
Bridesmaid
It was neither my heart nor my mind which brought me to this friendship... it was my darn stomach. You ever spot someone across the snack table at a college club meeting and scream through a mutual glance "ARE YOU AS HANGRY AT THIS MEETING AS I AM?" And thus a friendship was born - a friendship which has endured questionable rashes, casual post-dinner pants unbuttoning, and countless meetings of the mind on the latest social justice issues plaguing our nation. I am deeply fortunate to have this woman in my life.

I met Laurel during my 2nd summer at Suttle Lake. I was told by friend, Kaylee, the year before that her cousin would be working at camp with both of us next year and that I'd love her because "She's just like me!" My 3rd summer of camp is when our friendship really took flight - we were roommates and would often be in our cabin listening to One Direction while we read books and avoided camp drama. Laurel is one of those friends where if you reconnect after several months, you're able to pick up right where you left off.

Picture this: You're on one of your first days in your new SLPA school program and you spot the coolest spam-musubi lunchbox you have ever seen IN YOUR LIFE. Behind it, sits an equally cool person. There is no universe in which I could pass up the chance to get to know this girl. And just that, our friendship was born. We have seen each other through heartache, international travel stress, and everything in between.
